When was the College Football 25 reveal?
The reveal timeline was:

What EA showed in the full reveal
CampusIQ gameplay systems
EA presented CampusIQ as a collection of features intended to make gameplay reflect college football across all 134 FBS schools. The reveal described team-specific offensive styles, team tiers, passing mechanics tailored to the college game and player ratings that can change during a matchup. These are EA’s feature descriptions rather than results from independent testing.
Wear & Tear and in-game decisions
EA said its Wear & Tear system tracks the effects of accumulated hits. According to the company, health, fatigue, injury risk and substitution choices can influence how a player is used as a game progresses.

Dynasty
Dynasty returns as the program-building mode. EA described it as a way to create a coach and develop a college football program over time.
Road to Glory
Road to Glory returns as the player-focused career mode. The reveal framed it as a path for an individual athlete trying to compete for the Heisman Trophy.
Additional online experiences
EA also announced two online experiences: Road to the College Football Playoff and College Football Ultimate Team.

Cover athletes and presentation
The May 16 cover announcement featured three athletes: Michigan running back Donovan Edwards, Texas quarterback Quinn Ewers, and Colorado wide receiver and defensive back Travis Hunter.
EA’s later launch announcement said the game represented all 134 FBS universities and included more than 150 stadiums. It also highlighted school traditions, fight songs, mascots and commentators. EA reported that the soundtrack contained 167 college fight songs.

The cited reveal and launch announcements establish those platforms and the 2024 launch date. They do not establish present-day store pricing, stock, edition availability or a current retailer recommendation.

EA’s technical account described GIBS, its proprietary stadium-lighting technology, as using hardware ray tracing for indirect lighting. EA said the approach was used in stadium environments. The company’s senior art director, Richard Burgess-Dawson, summarized it this way: “Simply put, GIBS is runtime ray-traced lighting for stadiums. This means our artists don’t have to bake lighting into the stadium.”

Accessibility options documented by EA
EA’s accessibility information applies to the US English version on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Listed options include:
- Turning screen shake off.
- Removing motion blur.
- Full-screen colorblind filters for Protanomaly, Deuteranomaly and Tritanomaly.
- Enlarging on-field graphics.
- Adjusting game length, clock speed, injury frequency, fatigue and player parity.
- Customizing certain kicking and passing styles.
EA says full control remapping is unavailable.
EA-reported participation figures
In its launch communication, EA reported 2.2 million unique players during Early Access and another 600,000 players through the EA Play trial. These are company-reported participation figures and were not independently audited in the announcement.
What the reveal meant for players
The May 17 presentation answered the main pre-launch questions: it confirmed the return of Dynasty and Road to Glory, introduced the two additional online modes, detailed the CampusIQ and Wear & Tear systems, and set the July 19 release for current-generation consoles. The game is no longer an upcoming release; any purchase or play decision now depends on current platform-store listings and edition availability, which were not established by the original reveal announcements.
