Keychron’s K2 HE magnetic-switch keyboard launched on Kickstarter on August 7, 2024, and its campaign closed on September 13, 2024. Kickstarter reports that 6,608 backers pledged $1,177,319 toward the project’s $20,000 goal. The campaign is over; Keychron announced direct sales in December 2024.
What Keychron promoted in the Kickstarter campaign
Keychron presented the K2 HE as a compact 75% wireless keyboard built around magnetic switches. The campaign described sensors that detect how far a key is pressed, letting users adjust actuation depth and use dynamic rapid triggering. It also promoted compatibility with Mac and Windows, along with QMK support. These are campaign and manufacturer descriptions, not independent performance-test results.
The product combines a compact layout with wired and wireless connection options. Keychron’s current product page lists USB-C wired, 2.4 GHz, and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as adjustable actuation, rapid trigger, and hot-swappable switches. Because the K2 HE is sold in different configurations, specifications and materials should be checked against the exact version.

Standard and Special Edition are not identical
Keychron lists two K2 HE constructions with different materials and keycaps. Dimensions and weight also differ, so do not assume a measurement for one edition applies to the other.

The Kickstarter campaign has ended
The campaign ran from August 7 through September 13, 2024. Its reported total—6,608 backers and $1,177,319 pledged against a $20,000 goal—is the final crowdfunding outcome, not a current offer to pledge. In December 2024, Keychron announced that it was moving to direct sales after the campaign. Keychron’s release also said the K2 HE was selected as a CES 2025 Innovation Awards Honoree; that award status is attributed here to the company announcement.
For a purchase today, check Keychron or a retailer for availability in your region, the exact edition and switch version, and the applicable price. Current regional price and stock were not established here, and the existence of a product page does not confirm that a particular configuration is available.
