What is an Eggstravaganza?
It is a name organizers use for seasonal egg hunts and spring events, not a single event with one location or schedule. Activities can include traditional or age-separated egg hunts, clue-based scavenger hunts, crafts, games, character photos, and entertainment. The exact mix and rules depend on the organizer.
For example, the National Park Service described its Oxon Hill Farm event as a clue-led search: “This isn’t your traditional egg hunt! Instead of looking for eggs willy-nilly, participants will follow a series of clues to find and participate in a proper scavenger hunt to find the eggs.” That was one event’s format, not a general rule. Where can you find an Eggstravaganza near you?
Search for the event name together with your city, park, recreation center, or attraction, then confirm details on the organizer’s official site. Check the page’s update date as well as the event date: schedules and rules change from year to year. The examples below took place in 2026 and are past events as of October 8, 2026; use them to understand the range of formats, not as upcoming event listings.

- Park or nature-center event: The National Park Service’s 2026 Oxon Hill Farm event in Maryland combined a clue-based hunt with egg painting, field games, a chicken vote, baby chicks, and scheduled performances. See the NPS event page.
- Municipal community event: Dublin, California’s 2026 event at Dublin Heritage Park and Museums included egg hunts, photos with Peter Rabbit and Flopsy, crafts, and entertainment. - Theme-park scavenger hunt: Disneyland Resort describes a character-themed egg search using a map and stickers, with different maps for Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and Downtown Disney District. Do you need to register or buy a ticket?
There is no universal entry rule. A 2026 NPS example was free and required no registration. Dublin required tickets for children participating in activities, while parents and grandparents could attend free; the city said space was limited and onsite registration was unavailable. Disneyland’s theme-park version requires valid admission and a same-day park reservation for park entry, and reservations are limited. Check whether any event activity has a separate fee or sign-up from general venue entry.

How do hunt times and age groups work?
Some organizers divide children into age bands or participation groups and assign a particular hunt time. In a 2026 flyer, Los Angeles’s State Street Recreation Center scheduled separate hunts for ages 1–4, 5–7, 8–10, and 11–12. El Segundo Recreation & Parks described wristbands, age-based hunt slots, and separate arrangements for crawlers and walkers. Those schedules are examples only; check your event’s assigned time and rules before setting out.
Also look for whether the hunt is competitive, countdown-start, all-levels, or clue-led. These formats affect what children will do and whether they need to listen for instructions, follow clues, or be ready at a specific start time.

What should you check before leaving?
- Confirm the event details: Verify the venue, date, hours, rain plan, and page’s last-updated date with the organizer.
- Check participation rules: Find out whether registration is required, whether tickets or wristbands cost money, whether capacity is limited, and whether walk-up or onsite registration is allowed.
- Match the schedule to your child: Confirm the age band, hunt time, and whether crawlers or walkers have separate arrangements.
- Read the venue-specific rules: Check whether to bring a basket and what the organizer says about candy, food, pets, parking, and event changes. Do not assume one event’s rules apply elsewhere.
- Plan access and transportation: Review parking, transit, route surfaces, mobility support, sensory accommodations, and any deadline for requesting assistance.
- For a theme park, check entry separately: An event map or keepsake does not replace park admission or a reservation when those are required.
What should you bring?
Bring a basket if the event involves collecting physical eggs and the organizer allows or requests one. A Town of Bethlehem municipal flyer for a 2026 event explicitly asked attendees to bring their own basket, but instructions differ by event. Bring only other supplies the organizer names; an egg-painting activity does not necessarily mean visitors should bring decorating materials.
Accessibility, parking, and accommodations
Look for access information on the official event page, and contact the venue if a detail you need is not listed. The 2026 Oxon Hill Farm page described mostly gravel walking paths, mobility assistance, ASL interpretation, Braille brochures, and quiet indoor spaces. It also noted limited parking and suggested considering the Oxon Hill Park and Ride, followed by a shuttle or walk. These arrangements are specific to that site, so ask your own venue about route surfaces, assistance, quiet spaces, and accommodation-request deadlines.

What to know about Disneyland’s Eggstravaganza
Disneyland Resort presents Eggstravaganza as a map-and-sticker character-themed search with different maps for Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, and Downtown Disney District. The resort page identifies the experience as returning in 2027 and warns that dates, keepsakes, and prices can change; it also says the experience may be canceled. For the theme parks, valid admission and a same-day park reservation are required for entry, and reservations are limited.
