To start New Game Plus in Elden Ring, choose Begin Journey 2 at the Table of Lost Grace in Roundtable Hold. You can do this after the credits or return to it later. Your character keeps much of their build and equipment, but the world, quests, and story progress reset.
How do you start New Game+ in Elden Ring?
After the final boss and credits, the game offers to begin Journey 2. Accept to start the new journey immediately, or decline and return to Roundtable Hold to keep exploring. Declining does not remove the option.

- Rest at the Table of Lost Grace in Roundtable Hold.
- Select Begin Journey 2 from the menu.
- Confirm when prompted to restart the world.
Before starting, finish any first-journey tasks you still want to do. You cannot replay the final boss sequence or choose a different ending within the completed journey; a new run gives you another opportunity to pursue an ending.
What should you do before starting Journey 2?
Journey 2 restarts world and story progression, so decide whether you are ready to leave the current state behind. Before selecting it, consider:

You can defer the reset while you explore or improve your gear. The practical trade-off is whether you want more first-journey content now or are ready to restart progression with your accumulated character.

These are broad categories, not a guarantee that every individual item behaves identically. Item-specific exceptions are not consistently documented, so check a current, version-aware reference if a particular collectible matters to your plan.

Map progress and Bell Bearing carryover are less clear. GameSpot’s June 26, 2024 guide says Bell Bearings do not carry over, while the wiki.gg reference distinguishes certain non-NPC-drop Bell Bearings already given to the Twin Maiden Husks as persistent. Because those accounts differ, do not assume every Bell Bearing resets or persists; verify the specific type against the current game version.

Enemies are stronger and award more Runes in Journey 2. The guides describe both changes qualitatively; a precise universal Rune-multiplier figure is not established here. The story itself does not change, but a fresh run lets you make different choices and pursue another ending.

Can I keep playing after beating the final boss?
Yes. Decline the immediate Journey 2 option and you return to Roundtable Hold, where you can continue exploring the completed first journey. When you are ready to reset, rest at the Table of Lost Grace and choose Begin Journey 2.
