To complete Guardian’s Remembrance in Elden Ring Nightreign, advance the Guardian’s Journal and complete its objectives in Chapters 4, 6, 7 and 9. You’ll defeat the Cracked Golem and take its Stone Stake, eliminate the Wandering Merchant, buy a tome for 10,000 Runes, then inspect a book and speak with Recluse. The final choice does not change the listed rewards.
Unlock Guardian’s Remembrance chapters
Play expeditions as Guardian, then check the Journal at the Roundtable Hold for available Remembrance entries and any stated progression requirement. Memory Fragments earned through expedition play can unlock early chapters, and defeating Gladius, Beast of Night, unlocks Chapter 4. Chapter 6 requires further progression, including another Nightlord victory. Chapter 9 requires Revenant to be unlocked; if it is unavailable, check the Journal and meet its current requirement. To begin an objective, select the current entry in Guardian’s Nightfarer Journal and enter the Realm of Remembrance. Start the expedition for that entry so its objective and orange map marker appear.
Chapter 4: defeat the Cracked Golem and claim the Stone Stake
- Accept Guardian’s Chapter 4 Remembrance in the Journal.
- In the southwest library area of the Roundtable Hold, speak with the Iron Menial until the dialogue option “about the cursed weapon” appears; select it.
- Start an expedition in the Realm of Remembrance and follow the orange marker to the Cracked Golem.
- Defeat the Golem and claim the Stone Stake. You do not need to finish the expedition once you have obtained the item.
- Return to the Iron Menial and exhaust his dialogue to receive the Second Volume, then use the nearby gateway to conclude the Remembrance.
The reward is the Stone Stake relic. Game8 describes its Guardian-specific effects as increased Whirlwind duration and Character Skill Cooldown Reduction +3.

Chapter 6: eliminate the Wandering Merchant
- After meeting the Journal’s progression requirement, accept Chapter 6.
- In the Roundtable Hold dressing room, speak with the ghostly Wandering Merchant until he gives Guardian the Eerie Charm.
- Return to the main room for the scene, then go back to the dressing room and speak to the merchant again.
- Choose “Eliminate.” Choosing “Leave alone” returns you to the choice prompt and does not advance the quest.
- Take the Merchant’s Ledger and conclude the Remembrance.
The reward is Guardian’s Chalice, which Game8 describes as granting Guardian blue, yellow and universal relic slots. PC Gamer also confirms that eliminating the merchant is required to continue.
Chapter 7: buy the tome for 10,000 Runes
- Accept Guardian’s Chapter 7 Remembrance and speak with the Iron Menial to receive the objective.
- Start an expedition with the Remembrance active and follow the orange marker to the Scale-Bearing Merchant.
- Choose “I want the tome” and pay 10,000 Runes, the cost reported by Game8.
- Complete or leave the expedition, return to the Iron Menial, and show him the tome to conclude the Remembrance.
The reward is the Third Volume relic. Game8 describes it as creating a whirlwind when charging halberd attacks and restoring HP upon halberd attacks.

Chapter 9: inspect the book and speak with Recluse
- Unlock Revenant if Chapter 9 is unavailable. Game8 suggests defeating a Nightlord for a Memory Fragment if needed.
- Accept the Chapter 9 Remembrance and inspect the interactable book in the northwest corner of the west library.
- Follow the marker to Recluse in the garden and exhaust her dialogue.
- Choose either offered response, then use the gateway to conclude the Remembrance.
The listed rewards are Witch’s Brooch and Guardian’s Remembrance skin. The choice to forgive or punish Recluse does not change the rewards, according to PC Gamer. Game8 describes the Witch’s Brooch as restoring nearby allies’ HP while Guardian’s Art is active, reflecting a portion of damage when the ability activates, and adding Vigor +3.
