Unlock Everdark Sovereign Tricephalos
Clear the regular Tricephalos expedition before attempting its Everdark Sovereign version. Bandai Namco describes Sovereigns as enhanced Nightlords with new moves and increased power. The announcement framed them as limited-time versions, but official 2025 announcements do not establish whether Tricephalos is available on October 8, 2026. Check the in-game expedition list or a current official announcement for availability.

Prioritize Holy damage
Bandai Namco’s beginner guide identifies Holy as Tricephalos’s weakness and says it is usually found in incantations cast with seals. Favor a useful Holy option if one turns up, but do not plan around a guaranteed weapon: expedition drops and enemy placements vary between runs.

Build for staying power
PC Gamer’s encounter guide recommends damage negation, fire resistance, and health flasks for the Sovereign fight. These are secondary-source tactical recommendations, not a developer-prescribed build. They are especially relevant once Gladius adds fire pressure and more threatening area attacks.

Use the expedition days to adapt
Nightreign is not a direct boss rush. Across its three-day expedition loop, gather runes, weapons, passive effects, and consumables while adapting to the changing map and drops. Bandai Namco advises exploring Churches for flask upgrades and leveling at Sites of Grace; those sites also heal and restore flasks. Choose the strongest useful Holy damage option you actually find rather than relying on a fixed route or guaranteed item.

Fight the opening three-wolf phase
PC Gamer reports that Everdark Gladius begins split into three dogs, rather than starting with the regular fight’s first phase. Avoid focusing so intently on one head that the others can approach unseen. Keep enough space and visibility to track the pack and respond to threats from different angles.
Handle the fire-sword phase
At around three-quarters health, Gladius recombines and imbues its sword with fire, according to PC Gamer. The threshold is approximate; do not treat it as a guaranteed frame-perfect trigger. Expect stronger attacks and more dangerous area pressure after the transformation.

Dodge the delayed ground eruptions
PC Gamer describes sword attacks that leave fissures in the ground and detonate after the blade lands. If you are inside the fissures, watch for the impact cue and dodge the delayed eruption. If you are outside their path, maintain that distance instead of moving into the hazard.
Spend healing for the dangerous moments
The fire and area-attack phase is the higher-pressure part of the fight. Preserve healing resources during relatively safe openings where possible, so you have them when the delayed explosions or fire attacks threaten to overwhelm you.
Use Holy damage to create openings
Keep using Holy damage when an opportunity presents itself. PC Gamer reports that enough Holy hits can stagger Gladius and apply attack and defense debuffs. The guide does not establish a developer-confirmed hit count, so treat this as a reported strategy rather than a fixed threshold.

How Everdark differs from regular Tricephalos
The publisher’s broad description of Everdark Sovereigns is that they bring new moves and increased power. For this specific fight, PC Gamer reports the three-dog opening, the approximate recombination point, and the fire-infused sword phase with delayed ground explosions. Bandai Namco’s cited patch notes address adjustments to the separate Tricephalos Raid event; they do not establish a change to Everdark Gladius’s phase sequence or Holy weakness. The available update information also does not confirm a current Everdark schedule.
