When did two-player expeditions become available?
Bandai Namco’s version 1.02 patch notes, dated July 31, 2025, state: “Added Two Player Expeditions.” They clarify: “You may now start an expedition with two Players.” The notes also say game balance adjusts to the current number of players, so the party does not need to be a full trio to enter an expedition.
Are the party rules the same in every mode?
Not necessarily. The Deep of Night announcement specifically says online expeditions in that mode can begin with between one and three players. It also says friends can join through the platform invite system or multiplayer passwords. Those details apply to Deep of Night; the cited sources do not establish that every mode uses identical matchmaking or invitation rules.

Does the game still emphasize three-player co-op?
Yes. Bandai Namco’s product page presents three-player co-op as a core feature and separately lists the game under single-player and multiplayer. The later addition of duos expands the supported party sizes; it does not remove the trio format.
