Elden Ring Patch 1.13 was released on July 30, 2024, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Its published balance-change section focuses on PvP, including poise adjustments for several weapon types and changes to three skills or talismans. It is a historical update, not the current version: Bandai Namco published version 1.17 notes on August 27, 2026, and says players should apply the latest update before playing.
What Patch 1.13 changed
Bandai Namco’s July 30, 2024 announcement labels the balance changes below “PvP-exclusive.” The listed adjustments affect poise damage, backstep invulnerability, and two weapon skills.

Poise damage
- Normal attacks deal increased poise damage with Light Great Swords, Backhand Blades, Hand-to-Hand Arts, and Beast Claws.
- Dual-wield attacks deal increased poise damage with Straight Swords, Thrusting Swords, Curved Swords, Katanas, Spears, Whips, Fists, and Claws.
- Claws of Night throwing attacks deal increased poise damage.
These are poise-damage adjustments, not a general increase to every attack’s damage. The official notes identify the changes as PvP-exclusive; they should not be read as claims about PvE balance.
Backstep and skill adjustments
- The backstep invulnerability window is shorter when Fine Crucible Feather Talisman or Talisman of All Crucibles is equipped.
- Savage Lion’s Claw: the second hit of its follow-up attack is easier to land. The damage animation of the first attack against other players is decreased.
- Raging Beast: the invulnerability window against other players’ attacks is shorter.
Bandai Namco’s version 1.13 notes are the source for these listed PvP adjustments. The available announcement section does not establish that every change in the full release was PvP-only.

What version 1.13.2 fixed
A separate hotfix followed on August 8, 2024. Bandai Namco Europe’s version 1.13.2 notice lists bug fixes, rather than a new set of balance changes:
- Fixed a bug that caused the Death status effect from Death Flare to be applied to Deadly Poison Spray.
- Corrected some of Red Bear’s attack power.
- Fixed certain invasion and cooperative multiplayer issues in Scadu Altus.
- Addressed issues with Revered Spirit Ash Blessing effects and status increases for named spirits.
How to check for the hotfix
With version 1.13.2 installed, the title screen should show App Ver. 1.13 and Regulation Ver. 1.13.2. Bandai Namco’s notice says console players can download regulation files by logging in to the server, and that applying the update is required for online play.

Is Patch 1.13 still the latest version?
No. Version 1.13 was released in 2024, and 1.13.2 followed shortly afterward. Bandai Namco America published version 1.17 notes on August 27, 2026; that notice says to apply the latest update before playing. Check the game’s current version and your platform’s update options rather than treating 1.13 as a current patch.
