This spoiler-inclusive walkthrough covers Thiollier and St. Trina’s quest in Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree, from Pillar Path Cross to the expansion’s final boss. The main cutoff is the Sealing Tree: complete the early Garden of Deep Purple interactions before burning it, then finish Thiollier’s later dialogue before the Enir-Ilim fight with Leda and her allies.
1. Find Thiollier at Pillar Path Cross
Thiollier is at the Pillar Path Cross Site of Grace in eastern Gravesite Plain. To reach him, cross Ellac Greatbridge, continue southeast past the Messmer soldier camp, then take the left branch toward the Miquella Cross, as described by PC Gamer’s walkthrough.
Optional: Get Thiollier’s Concoction
This exchange is not required for Thiollier’s quest. Visit Moore at Main Gate Cross outside Belurat and accept Black Syrup. Give it to Thiollier, ask him about the syrup, and choose “I’m weary of life” to receive Thiollier’s Concoction. PC Gamer notes that the concoction is relevant to Igon’s quest and rewards, not a required step here.
2. Wait for the Great Rune to break, then head south
Progress through Shadow Keep until the Great Rune shatters and Miquella’s charm is dispelled. Speak to Thiollier afterward. If he does not mention traveling south to find St. Trina, rest at a Site of Grace and talk to him again.

From the Southern Shore, travel toward the southernmost peninsula and enter Stone Coffin Fissure. PC Gamer’s route reaches the shore through Ellac River Cave and follows the river; PowerPyx describes the fissure as being at the southern tip of Cerulean Coast. Follow the fissure to Fissure Depths, defeat the Misbegotten Crusader, then drop into the abyss beyond the grace to reach the Putrescent Knight’s arena. Thiollier can be summoned for this boss, according to PC Gamer.
After defeating the Putrescent Knight, continue to the Garden of Deep Purple and find St. Trina. For this route and boss sequence, see the guides from PC Gamer and PowerPyx.
3. Imbibe St. Trina’s nectar and relay her words
Interact with St. Trina and choose to imbibe her nectar. It kills your character and returns you to the area; this is a required quest interaction, not a failure. Both guides report that the fourth death triggers St. Trina’s first message.
Return to Thiollier and convey what St. Trina said. He will react angrily and accuse you of lying; that response is expected. Continue drinking the nectar and speaking with Thiollier when new dialogue is available. PowerPyx reports that the sequence progresses until St. Trina repeats, “You must kill Miquella… You must grant him forgiveness.” Its account totals seven imbibitions, including earlier deaths, while PC Gamer advises further imbibitions for context. Follow the dialogue cues rather than relying on a fixed total.

After the relevant dialogue, Thiollier invades in the Garden of Deep Purple. Defeat him; PowerPyx reports that he drops St. Trina’s Smile. Speak with him again afterward and pass on St. Trina’s words when prompted.
4. Complete the quest before the Sealing Tree cutoff
Do the early St. Trina and Thiollier interactions before burning the Sealing Tree at the Church of the Bud. PowerPyx warns that burning it makes most NPCs and their quests unavailable. Messmer must be defeated before this event can be triggered. If you want to preserve progress in other NPC questlines, finish their relevant steps before burning the tree as well.
5. Finish Thiollier’s dialogue after burning the tree
After the tree is burned, return to St. Trina’s cave in the Garden of Deep Purple. Thiollier will be on the ground. Exhaust his dialogue, relay St. Trina’s words, imbibe the nectar again, and speak to him once more. PowerPyx identifies dialogue ending in “…AH-HA…” as confirmation that this sequence is complete.
Do this before the Enir-Ilim confrontation with Needle Knight Leda and her allies. PowerPyx warns that Thiollier disappears after that fight, preventing you from finishing his quest.

Final boss and post-boss rewards
A second Thiollier summon sign appears before the expansion’s final boss gate. After the final boss, PowerPyx lists Thiollier’s Hidden Needle, Mask, Garb, Gloves, and Trousers among the drops. PC Gamer describes the Hidden Needle as a fist weapon and reports that returning to St. Trina afterward yields St. Trina’s Blossom. Summons are optional; their usefulness depends on how the encounters go for you.
