The Switch 2 version of ELDEN RING, titled ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition, launched on August 28, 2026. It was originally planned for 2025, but FromSoftware and Bandai Namco delayed it to allow more time for performance adjustments.
Why was Elden Ring delayed on Switch 2?
On October 23, 2025, the official ELDEN RING website changed the Switch 2 release window from 2025 to 2026. The notice said the developers judged that more time was needed to adjust game performance. When did Elden Ring Tarnished Edition come out on Switch 2?
FromSoftware announced the Switch 2 edition on April 2, 2025, with a planned 2025 release window. It set the worldwide launch date as August 28, 2026, in an announcement dated June 4, 2026. What is included in the Switch 2 edition?
ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition bundles the base game and the SHADOW OF THE ERDTREE expansion. It also includes four new armor sets, two new starting classes—Heavy Knight and Idus Knight—and three appearance options for Torrent. How do other platforms get the new content?
The new classes, armor sets, and Torrent appearance options were also released as the Tarnished Pack for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Steam on August 28, 2026. On those platforms, the pack requires the separately sold base game; it is not the bundled Switch 2 edition. FromSoftware’s Japanese announcement listed the pack at ¥550 including tax. What price was announced for Japan?
FromSoftware listed a Japanese suggested retail price of ¥9,020 including tax for the Switch 2 Tarnished Edition in its June 4, 2026 announcement.
