The Poison Flower Blooms Twice is found on a Teardrop Scarab in a small pool of rot south of the Ravine North Site of Grace in Rauh Base. Its follow-up attack can trigger a powerful burst only when the target is already affected by poison or scarlet rot. The Ash of War is part of Shadow of the Erdtree, which requires the base game.
Where to find The Poison Flower Blooms Twice
- Travel to the Ravine North Site of Grace in Rauh Base.
- Head south and cross the river.
- Look for a small pool of rot near the ruins, north of the large bridge above. Defeat the Teardrop Scarab there to receive the Ash of War.
The location and drop are listed by Eldenpedia’s item reference. If you already have the Ash, Smithing Master Hewg can duplicate it in exchange for Lost Ashes of War. The reference also lists it as tradable online.
How the skill works
The item description reproduced by Eldenpedia reads: “The Poison Flower Blooms Twice: Conjures stingers of scarlet rot from below to stab the enemy. Landing a follow-up attack on a foe already inflicted with poison or rot deals massive damage in one fell swoop.”
The skill costs 14 FP and 40 stamina, according to the community-maintained skill reference. It performs a leap and scarlet-rot stinger attack, followed by an impact shockwave. The follow-up can trigger a caustic burst if the target is already affected by poison, scarlet rot, or both; the reference says this consumes the existing status early. It also reports that the skill itself inflicts scarlet rot.

“Massive damage” is a qualitative description, not a guaranteed damage number. The reference identifies Arcane and weapon upgrade level among relevant scaling factors, so the result varies with build and circumstances. Detailed hit, buildup, timing and scaling figures are community-reported mechanics, not independently verified here.
Compatible weapons and affinities
Eldenpedia lists eligible infusable melee armaments and Thrusting Shields as compatible, while excluding Perfume Bottles. The exact weapon’s Ash of War menu is the practical check: compatibility can depend on the armament.

This Ash of War is in the Realm of Shadow, added by Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree. Bandai Namco says the base game is required. Its DLC access guide says to defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood, then approach the cocoon in the Mohgwyn Dynasty Mausoleum. The expansion was released June 21, 2024.
