White Mask Varré’s quest takes you from The First Step in Limgrave to Rose Church in Liurnia, then to Mohgwyn Palace. Complete three invasions—using the offline NPC option if needed—soak the Lord of Blood’s Favor in Finger Maiden blood, and return it to Varré to earn the reusable Pureblood Knight’s Medal that opens an early route to Mohgwyn Palace.
Start Varré’s quest at The First Step
- Find White Mask Varré beside the Site of Grace at The First Step in Limgrave and exhaust his dialogue.
- After reaching Roundtable Hold and speaking with Finger Reader Enia, return to The First Step and speak with him again. He can give you the “Bravo!” gesture.
Varré’s first conversation is the starting point; he later moves to Rose Church.
Meet Varré at Rose Church
Once the quest advances, find Varré at Rose Church in Liurnia. When he asks about the Two Fingers, choose the response indicating the other Tarnished “didn’t seem right.” Exhaust his dialogue to receive five Festering Bloody Fingers.
Complete three invasions, online or offline
Use Festering Bloody Fingers to invade other players three times. The guides describe the number of attempts—not whether you win—as the progression condition. If you are playing offline, use the NPC invasion sign for Magnus the Beast Claw at Writheblood Ruins instead.

- ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition

Quest choices and cautions
- Want the offline route? The Magnus the Beast Claw invasion at Writheblood Ruins is the alternative described for players who cannot or do not want to invade online.
- Want Varré’s full rewards? Do not kill him early; doing so can end the quest before you obtain the medal and complete his reward path.
- Encounter trouble? Quest triggers and details can change with patches. If a step does not advance, check that the game is updated and that you have completed the preceding dialogue and invasion requirements.
- Choosing a blood-soaking route? The Church of Inhibition option includes a hostile encounter, while the other documented options use Finger Maiden corpses at their respective locations.
