How EMPULSE progression is divided

- Choose newly available equipment from your loadout. Once an item appears as unlocked in your current menus, equip it and begin its separate weapon-level progression if you want its attachments or skins.

How weapon levels, attachments and skins work
Weapon progression is independent of your account level. A weapon can therefore be available to your account while still having its attachments and skins locked behind that weapon’s own level. Conversely, raising one weapon does not automatically raise every weapon in the arsenal.
Build a weapon-level routine
- Pick the weapon you intend to develop before entering a session, so match XP is directed toward the same individual weapon.
- Use that weapon consistently enough for its own level to rise; the guide does not establish a faster weapon-XP activity or a guaranteed high-yield map.
- Inspect the weapon’s level and customization entries after matches. Attachments and skins are reported to unlock as the weapon levels, not all at once.

- Raise one weapon to its maximum level. The weapon must be maxed; merely unlocking it or obtaining a few attachments is not the stated trigger.
- Return to the main menu.
- Open the Gigs section. The guides say Mastery Gigs appear there after the weapon reaches maximum level.
- Select the weapon’s Mastery challenges. Read the objectives shown in your build rather than relying on a generic checklist, because the cited material does not enumerate every Gig.
- Complete the challenges to claim the reward. The reported reward is an exclusive skin for that weapon.
If the Gigs entry does not appear, first verify that the correct weapon—not just your account—has reached its maximum level. Then check the main-menu Gigs area again. GameSpot characterizes EMPULSE as a movement-focused shooter and recommends staying mobile rather than standing still in a firefight. The guide specifically mentions sprinting or grappling to close distance. Apply that as a positioning principle: use movement to reach effective range, break an opponent’s aim and avoid becoming an easy stationary target. The recommendation is source-attributed guidance, not a result of independent testing.
Closing on a mech
The same guide points to the sledgehammer’s fast melee swings as a close-range option against a nearby mech. That does not establish the sledgehammer as the game’s best weapon or guarantee a win against every mech configuration. It is a situational tactic for a player who has already reached melee range; approaching safely and choosing the right moment remain part of the encounter.

A guaranteed ADS accuracy rule
A beginner-guide search result includes the question “Do you really need to zoom in with ADS to be accurate in Empulse?” The returned evidence does not establish a current rule about hip-fire or ADS accuracy. It is therefore not safe to state that zooming is required, that hip-fire is perfectly accurate, or that one setting universally improves aim.

Availability and early-access caveats
GameSpot’s July 2, 2026 article describes EMPULSE as a 6v6 early-access arena shooter from 1047 Games and lists Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. Those details are tied to that publication date. Store listings, regional access and platform support can change, so check the current listing for your platform before assuming that a cited mode or menu is available.
Early access also means that progression may be reset, rebalanced or reorganized. A weapon level, Mastery trigger or Quick Play option can therefore differ from the wording in a guide published earlier in the game’s life. Record the patch shown in your client when troubleshooting a discrepancy.
