What’s actually slowing this PC down?

Cheating may give a player an unfair short-term advantage, but it breaks Epic’s rules and can cost access to matchmaking, tournaments, or winnings. To improve without putting an account at risk, review your own gameplay with Fortnite’s Replay tool or seek coaching—both are permitted under the cited 2026 FNCS rules.
What Fortnite rules count as cheating?
Epic’s player-facing Fortnite Code of Conduct says: “Don’t cheat, grief, or exploit bugs and glitches.” It also bars promoting or advertising known cheats and exploits, and says players may not team up in solo modes.
For tournaments, the 2026 FNCS rules give more specific examples of prohibited unfair play. These are competition rules, not a complete description of every casual-mode rule.
- Hacking or modifying the intended behavior of the game client.
- Using a program, hardware, or tool that reads real-time game state to gain an advantage, including aimbots and hardware-assisted cheat devices.
- Using input-manipulation devices, spoofers, mods, or macros that automate in-game actions.
- Intentionally exploiting a game function or colluding with other players.
The rules distinguish gameplay-aware overlays that provide an advantage from general-purpose overlays without gameplay awareness; Discord and streaming or broadcast software are examples of the latter. If you compete, consult the live rules for the event rather than assuming a tool is allowed because it appears harmless or is used outside a match.

Why cheating can cost more than it gains
Cheating undermines fair matches and conflicts with Epic’s rules. The consequences depend on the offense and context: Epic’s Code of Conduct says penalties can range from a warning to a permanent ban, depending on severity and repeat behavior.
Epic’s February 2025 anti-cheat update specified that a first cheating offense receives a one-year matchmaking ban and a second receives a lifetime ban. For cheating in a tournament, Epic said the player receives a lifetime tournament ban and may lose past tournament winnings. Those are the stated consequences for cheating—not a single penalty that applies to every conduct violation.
Epic Support says Fortnite player bans may be temporary for up to 365 days or permanent indefinitely. Eligible bans can be appealed through the Sanctions and Appeals Portal.

Use replays to review your own decisions
Epic describes Fortnite Replays as a way to study a match or a player’s technique. In the cited 2026 FNCS rules, using the in-game replay tool is expressly allowed under the outside-assistance provision.
For Creative islands, Epic’s Replay documentation gives this setup path:
- Open the Game Menu.
- Select the gear icon, then Settings.
- On the Game tab, scroll to Replays.
- Turn on “Record Creative Replays.”
Epic says a Creative session can record for up to four hours, saved as separate 30-minute files. Menu labels and feature behavior can change, so check the current documentation if the setting has moved.

Keep a review focused: choose one moment and ask what information was visible, why you chose to engage or reposition, and what alternative you might try next time. Looking closely at a decision can give you something specific to practice; Epic does not promise a particular skill improvement from replay study.

The 2026 FNCS rules explicitly say coaching is allowed under the cited outside-assistance provision. A coach can offer another perspective on your decisions, but no particular coach or service is verified here, and coaching does not guarantee better results. For tournament play, check the current event rules for any applicable conditions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsReport suspected cheating through Fortnite
If another player’s actions seem suspicious, report them in-game rather than treating suspicion as proof or publicly accusing them. Epic’s February 2025 update says, “If you suspect someone may be cheating, submit a report inside Fortnite.” Epic Support says reports are reviewed and sanctions are applied when warranted.
A separate requirement for PC tournament players
Epic announced on February 10, 2026 that starting February 19, PC players entering all tournaments would need Secure Boot, TPM, and IOMMU enabled. Epic described IOMMU as a security feature that helps the operating system control hardware devices’ access to system memory, helping protect game memory from cheat hardware. The announcement also stated that approximately 95% of Fortnite players on PC are compatible with Windows 11; that is Epic’s dated compatibility figure, not a measure of cheating or skill. Because tournament requirements can change, check Epic’s competitive integrity and security guidance before entering an event.
