There is not enough current, post-patch evidence to name ten verified beginner weapons in Enotria: The Last Song. A September 2024 guide identifies five Quinta-area candidates, but Jyamma Games’ March 2025 update changed most weapon movesets and realigned stats. Treat these as leads to check in your current game—not a definitive ranking or a guaranteed current top five.
Why a current top ten is hard to verify
Jyamma Games says Enotria: The Last Song has more than 120 weapons across eight classes. That variety makes “best” depend on more than a weapon’s listed damage: class, elemental matchup, Virtue requirements, and how comfortably you can use its attacks all matter. The official feature page also describes quicksteps and chainable parries as parts of combat, so a beginner pick should suit your timing as well as your build. Jyamma Games’ official feature page
The five candidates below come from Twinfinite’s September 17, 2024 early-game guide, which focuses on weapons found in Quinta and says its selections cover all four elements. Its locations and descriptions are useful starting points, but its moveset and stat claims predate patch 1.008. No post-patch, weapon-by-weapon source establishes ten current beginner recommendations, so the remaining five slots should not be filled with guesses. Twinfinite’s early-game weapon guide
Five early-game candidates from the pre-patch guide
These are candidates to inspect, not a universal ranking. Availability does not necessarily mean immediate usability: check each weapon’s current requirements and stats before investing resources.
#1 Best Overall
1. Black Cat’s Tail — Saber, Malanno
Twinfinite says to descend the ladder beside the Lower Commons resting spot, cross to the other side of the mountain, and complete a challenge to reach a chest containing this Saber. The guide lists requirements of 21 Bruiser and 21 Trickster, which may make it a poor immediate choice if your build has not reached them. Its claimed strengths are speed and a Malanno-infused heavy attack; verify both in your current version.
2. Penance Bearer — Morningstar, Gratia
The guide places this Morningstar as a drop from female priests in the Monastery of Maja. It recommends the weapon for its Gratia-infused heavy attack, low upgrade investment, and A scaling in Elemental Power. Those are pre-patch claims, not confirmed current values; check the weapon’s present stat screen before choosing it over a weapon you can already use.
Rank #2
- Wield Ardore to alter the world around you.
- Stay on the offensive with quicksteps and chainable parries.
- Strike foes to charge powerful magical Lines.
- Strategically swap between up to three Loadouts at any time.
- Break an enemies posture for a devastating attack, granting you a mighty Awakened buff.
3. Martyr’s Blade — Longsword, Fatuo
According to the guide, Martyr’s Blade is in a chest on the first floor of the Old Ruler’s Crypt. It presents the weapon as an accessible Fatuo option for players who want quick attacks and parries. Confirm the current name, infusion, and attack behavior in-game, since the available description predates later combat changes.
4. Red Hot Skewer — Polearm, Fatuo
The guide says the Elite Soldier in the red challenge portal near the Old Ruler’s Crypt resting spot drops this Polearm. It praises a Fatuo-infused heavy attack and a broad double swing, but warns that the challenge may be difficult early. The A attack-scaling value it reports is pre-patch information and should not be treated as current.

5. Gluttonous Fork — Polearm, Vis
This weapon is awarded for defeating Zanni, the First Mask, at the School of Zanni, so it is not an at-the-start option. Twinfinite describes it as a Vis counterpart to Red Hot Skewer, with the same moveset in the guide’s version, stronger Status Power, and high Unravel damage. Recheck its present attacks and stats after the later weapon update.
What changed after the guide was published
Jyamma Games’ March 13, 2025 version 1.008 notes say most weapons received moveset updates and their stats were realigned with rarity and new actions. The notes distinguish changes by rarity: common weapons gained simpler, more distinct chains; rare weapons may have new actions or auto-infusing attacks; epic weapons may add moves or a spell within their chains; and legendary weapons gained completely new movesets. This is why the 2024 guide’s attack descriptions and scaling values cannot safely serve as a current ranking. Jyamma Games version 1.008 patch notes
Rank #4
The guide also suggests using a light attack before a heavy attack to make the heavy come out faster. Because weapon chains changed, treat that as a version-specific tip rather than a universal technique; test the sequence with the weapon you are considering.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to choose among them for your build
- Check requirements first. A weapon that exceeds your current Virtues is not a practical beginner pick, even if its guide description sounds ideal.
- Choose for the encounter and your timing. The five candidates span Saber, Morningstar, Longsword, and Polearm classes and Malanno, Gratia, Fatuo, and Vis descriptions. Compare reach, attack speed, and current elemental behavior against the enemies you are facing rather than assuming one element or class is always best.
- Compare the current weapon screens. Patch 1.006 added an Average Damage display that combines Physical, Ardore, and the highest Elemental damage. Use it as one comparison aid, not as a verdict about handling or matchup. The same update added up to five loadout presets per save slot, which can make it easier to compare setups. Jyamma Games version 1.006 patch notes
- Test the full chain. Since movesets vary and some were updated, try the attacks, heavy follow-ups, and parry timing yourself before spending heavily on upgrades.
For general context, a pre-patch Dot Esports guide describes Sabers as the fastest class and recommends changing weapons to counter enemy elements. That supports comparing speed and elemental matchups, but it does not establish current damage rankings. Dot Esports’ pre-patch loadout guide
