What Enter the Apartment is and how it works
Enter the Apartment is a browser-style point-and-click escape game. You move around a single apartment scene, inspect hotspots, collect objects, and apply each object where it is useful. The goal is to obtain the apartment key and place it in the door knob. EscapeGames24 describes mouse point-and-click interaction, with inventory items selected directly or dragged onto a target depending on the game interface.

The game is sometimes written as Enter the Appartment on walkthrough pages. That spelling refers to the same title. There is no combat or timing challenge in the documented solution; progress comes from noticing concealed areas and using items in the correct order. Several objects only become useful after another action has exposed them, so searching every newly opened compartment is essential.

Controls and a good way to search
- Inspect first: click rugs, floorboards, cabinet edges, clocks, panels, toolboxes, wires and the area behind furniture. Important objects are deliberately hidden in ordinary-looking scenery.
- Use the inventory deliberately: select an item, then click the object or location where it belongs. If selection does not work, drag the item from the inventory onto the target.
- Recheck locations after a change: moving the rug, opening the cabinet, removing the clock batteries or switching off power changes what can be collected.
- Keep dependencies in mind: the batteries power the voltmeter; the voltmeter and map identify the breaker; only then is it safe to cut the white wire.
If a click appears to do nothing, move the cursor around the entire hotspot rather than only its center. Small items such as the metal piece and the voltmeter can be easy to miss because they occupy little screen space.

Step-by-step walkthrough
1. Move the rug and search the floor
Start by moving the rug. A cabinet key is hidden underneath it; add the key to your inventory. Before leaving this area, inspect the floorboard region carefully and take the small metal piece. It is easy to overlook because it is not presented as a large, obvious tool. You need both objects before the next set of actions can be completed.
2. Reveal the map behind the cabinet
Inspect the back and sides of the cabinet. The electric power map is behind it. The map is not decoration: it is the reference for the colored-wire puzzle and for identifying the breaker that can be turned off safely. Keep it visible or remember its wire labels while working on the power box.
3. Unlock the cabinet and open the square panel
Use the cabinet key from the rug on the cabinet lock. Inside, collect the second key and the screwdriver. Use the screwdriver on the small square panel. Opening that panel reveals the voltmeter. Do not try to use the voltmeter before supplying it with batteries; it will not provide a useful reading while unpowered.

4. Collect oil and the crowbar
Search the corner close to the apartment door. You should find a container of oil and a crowbar. These items are for the red toolbox. If either one is not in your inventory, sweep the whole corner and click the objects from several positions; the hotspot can be less obvious than the door itself.
5. Take the batteries from the clock
Turn the clock over to expose its back. Use the small metal piece found near the floorboard on the clock mechanism or cover. The clock opens and yields batteries. Put the batteries into the voltmeter. This is the point at which the meter becomes useful for testing the apartment circuits.
6. Open the red toolbox
Apply the oil to the red toolbox, then use the crowbar on it. The user-submitted walkthrough on GamesButler warns that this interaction can be buggy: the game may fail to register the combination on the first attempt. If the toolbox remains shut, select the oil again and apply it to the toolbox, then repeat the crowbar action. Try the sequence several times, clicking the toolbox body rather than its latch alone. Once it opens, take the clippers.
How to solve the colored power-box puzzle
Read the lock and map together
Use the screwdriver to access the power box. Its lock uses a sequence of colored positions. The relevant colors are orange, blue, yellow and gray. The power map shows which numbered wire corresponds to each color. Your task is to translate the lock’s visible color order into the numbered sequence printed or represented on the map.

- On the map, locate the wire that matches the first lock color and note its number.
- Repeat for the second, third and fourth colors, preserving the lock’s order.
- Enter those numbers into the lock and confirm. If the lock rejects the sequence, reread the map rather than assuming the puzzle is broken; a wire can be hidden behind a line or connector.
One GamesButler walkthrough lists 241756378 as a possible sequence, but the author explicitly says it may not always be the same. Treat that number as an example from one playthrough, not a guaranteed universal answer. The color-to-wire mapping visible in your copy is the authoritative solution.

Why copying a code can fail
- The lock may display colors in a different order from the example sequence.
- A number can represent a wire on the map rather than a color position, so entering color names or positions directly will fail.
- Some interfaces require clicking each digit or selector individually; pasting or typing a full string may not register.
- If the box has not been opened with the screwdriver, the sequence control may not yet be active.
Use the voltmeter before touching the wire
After the lock opens, use the battery-powered voltmeter with the power map. The meter and map together identify the circuit that can be switched off without triggering the alarm. Follow the circuit shown for the target wire and locate its corresponding breaker in the panel. The documented solution does not call for guessing: test the circuit, match the reading to the map, and then operate the corresponding breaker.
Switch off only the breaker identified by that test. Cutting a live or incorrect wire can trigger the alarm or leave the required wire energized. If the meter gives no reading, check that the batteries came from the opened clock and were actually placed in the voltmeter; then return to the map and test the connection again.
Clip the white wire and retrieve the key
Cut only after power is off
With the correct breaker switched off, select the clippers and use them on the white wire. This order is mandatory. The white wire should not be clipped while the circuit is live. A successful cut leaves the route safe for the next interaction.

Take the white wire to the area behind the cabinet. Use it there to pull or retrieve the apartment key hidden out of reach. The key is the objective item described by the walkthrough; it is not the earlier cabinet key, so make sure the newly recovered key appears separately in your inventory.

Finish at the door
Go to the apartment door and use the recovered apartment key in the door knob. When the key is accepted, the escape sequence completes. If nothing happens, verify that you cut the white wire after switching off the mapped breaker and that you are using the final key rather than the cabinet key.

The cabinet key is missing
Move the rug completely, not just a small corner, and inspect the exposed floor. The key is underneath the rug. Also check the floorboard area for the separate metal piece; confusing these two items can make the later clock step appear impossible.
The map or voltmeter cannot be found
The map is behind the cabinet, while the voltmeter is behind the small square panel opened with the screwdriver. The screwdriver itself comes from the cabinet after you use the first key. Follow that dependency chain rather than searching the room for a loose meter.
The toolbox will not open
This is the documented troublesome interaction. Reapply oil, then the crowbar, and repeat the attempt several times. Click the main toolbox area and try selecting the items from the inventory instead of dragging them. Do not proceed to the power puzzle expecting clippers until the toolbox has visibly opened and yielded them.
Best Value
The power lock rejects the code
Do not assume 241756378 is universal. Compare each lock color with the matching wire on your map and enter the resulting numbers in the lock’s displayed order. Check for a missed color, reversed order, or an unconfirmed screwdriver action.
The alarm sounds or the final key cannot be reached
Return to the voltmeter and map. The intended sequence is to identify the circuit, switch off its breaker, and only then clip the white wire. If you cut first, the game may not allow the safe retrieval step; repeat the breaker and wire actions in the documented order if the interface permits it.
What the walkthrough evidence establishes
GamesButler provides the fullest documented sequence, including the toolbox warning, the color-mapping method and the final white-wire action. CheatBook independently corroborates the early chain of rug key, metal piece, map, second key, screwdriver and voltmeter. EscapeGames24 supplies the point-and-click controls and the basic collect-and-apply puzzle structure. None of those pages establishes competing editions or a separate official code, so the visible map in the game should take precedence over any copied number.
