The sale ran from December 12, 2024, through January 9, 2025, and has ended; the announcement does not mean those games can still be claimed.
What Epic announced for the 2024 Holiday Sale
Epic’s Holiday Sale 2024 buyer’s guide, published December 12, 2024, said: “We’re once again piling up presents with 16 free games that will be revealed over the duration of the sale.” The guide announced the total number, but did not enumerate all 16 titles in the referenced section. When the promotion ran
Epic listed the sale period as December 12, 2024, at 11 AM ET / 4 PM GMT / 5 PM CET through January 9, 2025, at the same listed times. Those dates refer to the historical 2024 promotion, not a current giveaway.
Where to find Epic’s current free games
Epic directed players to the Store’s Free Games section to find and claim titles during the sale. For current promotions, Epic Support points players to the official Free Games page. That live page shows current storefront offers; it does not establish that games from the ended 2024 Holiday Sale remain claimable. For help with promotions, see Epic Support’s guidance on getting free games.

Quick Recap
Best Value
- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
