Cross-region gifting was added on September 2, 2026, but availability depends on the regions involved.
What you can gift on the Epic Games Store
Epic allows gifts of eligible paid games, game editions, downloadable content and add-ons, and some bundles. Eligibility is specific to the store item, so check that the item page offers Buy as a Gift before proceeding. Epic’s [gifting FAQ] and [giftable content guide] describe the eligible categories and exclusions.

You cannot gift free games, preorders, subscriptions, in-game currency or other consumables, Epic wallet funds, or digital currency. Gifting is for eligible digital store content, not a way to transfer money or store credit.
How to send an Epic Games Store gift
- Open the Epic Games Store website or Epic Games Launcher. In the launcher, use version 19.0 or later.
- Choose an eligible item and select “Buy as a Gift.” If that option is absent, that item cannot be gifted.
- Select a recipient from your Epic friends list. You and the recipient must have been friends on Epic for at least two days.
- Choose delivery timing. Send it now or schedule delivery for later, if the scheduling option is available.
- Complete checkout. Two-factor authentication (2FA) is required to send gifts. Epic says purchases made through its payment system earn Epic Rewards on gifts; an existing Rewards balance can also be applied to eligible gifts. The official pages do not specify one universal reward rate.
Epic says the recipient receives an in-store notification and may also receive an email if email notifications are enabled. Its support guidance says you can send only one gift at a time; the shopping cart does not support sending multiple gifts together. Cross-region gifting: check availability first
Epic announced cross-region gifting on September 2, 2026, but says it is available only in some regions. Do not assume a gift can be sent across every country or territory. Check Epic’s current [gifting FAQ] for the regions involved before buying.

The recipient has 14 days to accept or decline. If they decline, or the gift is not accepted before it expires, Epic says the purchase is refunded automatically. A recipient cannot accept a game they already own; Epic says that purchase is refunded as well. Epic’s [support FAQ] explains the acceptance and refund rules.
