Epic Games Store gifting launched on November 18, 2025. You can send eligible games, editions, add-ons and bundles to an Epic friend, and eligible purchases made through Epic’s payment system earn Epic Rewards for the sender. You can also use an existing Rewards balance toward a gift.
What can you gift on the Epic Games Store?
Epic lets you gift eligible paid games, game editions, add-ons or DLC, and bundles. Items must be available as gifts in the store; not every listing qualifies. See Epic’s list of giftable items and exclusions.

- Not giftable: free games, preorder items, subscriptions, in-game currency such as V-Bucks, wallet funds, and digital currency.
- Ownership matters: a recipient who already owns the game cannot accept it.
What do you need before sending a gift?
- Your Epic account must have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled.
- You and the recipient must have been Epic friends for at least two days.
- On PC or Mac, the Epic Games Launcher must be version 19.0 or later. Gifting is also available through Epic’s website.
- You can send only one gift at a time.

How to send or schedule an Epic Games Store gift
- Open the eligible game, edition, add-on or bundle in the Epic Games Store website or PC/Mac launcher.
- Choose the gift option, then select the Epic friend who should receive it.
- If you want the gift delivered later, choose a delivery date when prompted.
- Complete checkout. You can pay using an available payment method and may apply an existing Epic Rewards balance toward the purchase.

When does the recipient get the gift?
The recipient has 14 days to accept or decline. Once accepted, the item is added to their Epic account. If the recipient declines or the gift expires without action, Epic automatically refunds the sender. A recipient who already owns the game cannot accept it. These terms are described in Epic’s gifting FAQ.
How Epic Rewards work when you buy a gift
Epic says the sender earns Rewards on eligible gift purchases made through Epic’s payment system, and an existing Rewards balance can be used toward gifts. Its Rewards feature page currently advertises 5%–20% back on eligible purchases. That is a range, not a guaranteed rate for every gift: Epic says the applicable percentage is disclosed before purchase and may vary. Check the checkout disclosure for the specific transaction.

Epic describes Rewards as store credit, not cash. Its support page says Rewards on refundable purchases become available 14 days after purchase and Rewards on preorders become available 14 days after release. Under the Epic Games Store EULA, last updated January 15, 2025, the general redemption delay is 14 days; unused Rewards usually expire 25 months after they are earned unless Epic discloses otherwise. Rewards cannot be transferred or cashed out.
Using Rewards toward a gift means spending credit already earned. Epic’s published information does not establish that the portion paid with Rewards earns additional Rewards, so rely on the rate and terms shown at checkout rather than assuming that it does.
