The 24-hour offer expired on December 30, 2025, at 16:00 UTC, so it is not a current giveaway.
What was Epic’s free game on December 29?
It was Viewfinder. Notebookcheck reported that Epic offered the game free for 24 hours, ending December 30, 2025, at 16:00 UTC. That special holiday window was shorter than Epic’s usual weekly giveaway period.
Epic’s support guidance says its regular weekly free games normally run for seven days, from Thursday at 8 a.m. PT. That general schedule does not make the past Viewfinder promotion active again. Epic also says a game stays in a player’s library permanently after it is claimed, and claiming requires an Epic account with two-factor authentication enabled. See Epic’s free-game and claiming guidance.
Is Viewfinder free on Epic today?
No current offer for Viewfinder is established here. The December 2025 giveaway has ended; Epic’s general Free Games page describes its ongoing program but does not establish that this particular game is still claimable. Check the Epic Games Store Free Games page for current promotions.

What kind of game is Viewfinder?
Viewfinder is a single-player, first-person puzzle adventure. Its defining mechanic turns images into changes in the environment: players place photographs, paintings, sketches, screenshots, and postcards into the world to reshape spaces and find ways through puzzles. It was developed by Sad Owl Studios and published by Thunderful Publishing; Steam lists its release date as July 18, 2023. The Epic product listing and Steam listing describe the game and its credits.
Epic lists the Windows version and controller support, along with single-player and cloud saves. A controller is optional, not a stated requirement; the listing does not say that one is needed to play.
