What the 2024 leak predicted
Reporting by VGC and Notebookcheck on December 11–12 attributed the 16-offer prediction to billbil-kun of Dealabs. At the time, the schedule was a report about an upcoming promotion, not an official confirmation from Epic.
The reported schedule had the first offer available for a week, followed by 14 daily offers, then a final offer available for another week. Epic’s later buyer’s guide confirmed that the sale would include 16 free games, corroborating the leaked total.

|---|---|---|
| First offer | December 12–19, 2024 | One week |
| Offers 2–15 | December 19, 2024–January 2, 2025 | One new offer every 24 hours |

Epic’s official Holiday Sale buyer’s guide gave the sale dates as December 12, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time through January 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. Eastern Time.
What the 16 offers included
The completed lineup broadly followed the reported schedule. One important distinction is that “offers” is more precise than “standalone games”: the lineup included the Dark and Darker: Legendary Status upgrade, rather than a standalone game.

Why the leak seemed plausible
Epic had used daily or near-daily mystery giveaways in previous year-end promotions, so the reported schedule fit an established pattern. That context made the leak plausible, but it did not confirm the total before Epic announced it.
Epic had also said in February 2024 that its free-games program would continue through the year. That statement concerned the regular free-games program, not the number of offers in the Holiday Sale. The 16-offer figure came from the holiday leak and was later confirmed in Epic’s December buyer’s guide.

FAQ
How many free mystery-game offers did Epic have in 2024?
There were 16 offers during Epic Games Store’s 2024 Holiday Sale. Epic confirmed the total in its official buyer’s guide.

No. Reports attributed the prediction to billbil-kun of Dealabs, but described it as a leak. Epic later confirmed the 16-offer total in its buyer’s guide.

- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
Were all 16 offers available for only 24 hours?
No. The first offer was available for a week, the next 14 offers changed daily, and the final offer was available for a week.
Did all 16 offers include a standalone game?
No. The lineup included the Dark and Darker: Legendary Status upgrade, so describing all 16 as offers is more accurate than calling them 16 standalone games.
