The December 19, 2024 Epic Games Store free game was Vampire Survivors. The limited-time offer has expired: a contemporaneous schedule listed the claim window as December 19 at 10 a.m. Central Time through December 20 at 9:59 a.m. Central Time. That timing refers to the 2024 promotion, not an offer for December 19 of another year.
Which game was free on Epic Games on December 19?
It was Vampire Survivors, a gothic horror casual game with rogue-lite elements. Epic’s listing says players gather gold during runs to buy upgrades for later runs, and classifies the game as action-adventure, indie, and rogue-lite. Epic’s store listing also describes cloud saves, controller support, co-op, and local multiplayer; it says the full game can be played in one-to-four-player couch co-op.

When did the 24-hour offer end?
A contemporaneous Dot Esports schedule gave the promotion window as December 19, 2024 at 10 a.m. CT through December 20, 2024 at 9:59 a.m. CT. That schedule is the source for the historical timing; Epic’s current store listing identifies the game but does not confirm the past giveaway window. The offer has ended.
Did players have to download the game during the offer?
No. Claiming and downloading are separate: Epic’s support guidance says a free promotion must be claimed during its indicated period to add the game to a library. It does not say the game must be downloaded or installed before the promotion ends. Epic Games Support explains, “Free promotions have a limited duration. To add the game to your library, you must claim it within the indicated period.” Epic’s free-game support page provides the general rule.
