Notebookcheck reported the prediction on May 29, 2025, as an interpretation of a reused clue, not an official announcement. Its June 5 follow-up said Epic was offering Ogu and the Secret Forest alongside Deathloop through June 12.
What did the leaker predict?
Notebookcheck’s May 29, 2025 report attributed the prediction to Reddit user u/MeguminShiro. The user believed Epic had reused a clue from two weeks earlier—a clue the report said had been swapped at the last minute—and interpreted it as pointing to Ogu and the Secret Forest. The prediction was about one of the upcoming free games; it was not an Epic announcement or proof of private access.
At the time, Notebookcheck described Ogu and the Secret Forest as a 2D adventure game listed as “coming soon” on the Epic Games Store. Notebookcheck’s May 29 report also framed the upcoming release as the last Mystery Game promotion of that Mega Sale period, with the next titles due Thursday, June 5.
Was the prediction accurate?
Yes. In a June 5 follow-up, Notebookcheck reported that Epic’s final Mystery Game giveaway of the period included Ogu and the Secret Forest and Deathloop. The games were offered through June 12, making the Reddit user’s prediction accurate about Ogu. The match establishes that the prediction named a game later reported in the giveaway; it does not independently establish how the clue was obtained or interpreted.
