The Epic Games Store promotion for Definitely Not Fried Chicken reportedly ran from January 29 through February 5, 2026. That offer has expired. Epic says missed free-game promotions cannot be claimed retroactively, so check the store’s Free Games page for current offers instead.
Which game was free until February 5?
The game was Definitely Not Fried Chicken, a single-player indie simulation and strategy game for Windows. PC Gamer’s giveaway roundup reported that it was free on Epic from January 29 to February 5, 2026. Epic’s current store page does not show that historical promotion.
In the game, you build legitimate businesses—including fried chicken shops, laundromats and nightclubs—while managing an illicit empire and its workers. Epic lists Dope Games as developer, Silver Lining Interactive as publisher, and September 28, 2023 as the release date. See the Epic Store listing for the game’s current details.
Can you still claim it?
No, not through the expired February 2026 offer. Epic Games Player Support says a free game must be claimed during the promotion period to be added to your library. If you missed it, Epic says to watch for a future offer; it does not restore missed promotions. See Epic’s missed-promotion guidance.

How Epic’s weekly free-game offers work
Epic says weekly free games are available for seven days before rotating, with a new offer arriving Thursday at 8 AM PT. A game claimed during its offer period stays in your Epic account library. You need an Epic account with two-factor authentication enabled to claim one. Check the official Free Games page for what is currently available; offers change over time.
