Battlestate Games initially said its updated NVIDIA DLSS integration was in internal testing and expected in-game “in the near future,” without giving a release date. Later official Escape from Tarkov update notes documented an update to DLSS version 4 and a subsequent update to its model presets. Those notes confirm the follow-through, but do not establish that every DLSS 4 feature is available in Tarkov or provide game-specific performance results.
When did DLSS 4 come to Escape from Tarkov?
Battlestate Games announced on February 10, 2025, that it was working on integrating NVIDIA’s updated DLSS alongside other potential performance improvements and fixes. The studio said the integration was undergoing internal testing and would become available in-game “in the near future”; it did not announce an exact date. Battlestate Games’ official channel carried the statement, and Insider Gaming’s contemporaneous report dates the announcement to February 10, 2025.
Later official update notes recorded “Updated Nvidia DLSS to version 4.” A subsequent official post then documented an update to the DLSS 4 model presets and explained how players who had changed presets through NVIDIA App could reset them. These notes establish that Tarkov’s DLSS version and presets were updated; the original announcement alone did not confirm a release date, and the later notes do not enumerate every DLSS 4 feature available in the game. What does DLSS 4 include?
DLSS is a suite of technologies, not one setting. NVIDIA distinguishes Super Resolution, DLAA, Ray Reconstruction, Frame Generation, and Multi Frame Generation. Their availability depends on the specific feature, the game’s implementation, and—in some cases—the graphics card. NVIDIA’s DLSS 4 overview describes the feature set and compatibility.

These are NVIDIA’s general compatibility statements, not a list of features confirmed for Tarkov. The game’s announcement and cited update notes do not confirm that Tarkov exposes every DLSS 4 feature. Check Tarkov’s current graphics settings and update notes for the options actually available in your installation.
Does Tarkov’s DLSS 4 update require an RTX 50 Series GPU?
The update announcement does not say that players need an RTX 50 Series GPU. NVIDIA’s RTX 50 Series compatibility statement applies specifically to Multi Frame Generation; it does not make that GPU family a requirement for every DLSS feature or for the Tarkov update. NVIDIA separately documents its Transformer Model Upgrade for GeForce RTX users when the relevant in-game feature is enabled. Which options you can use in Tarkov depends on the game’s implementation and your hardware.

What performance improvement should players expect?
The cited Tarkov announcement and update notes publish no Tarkov-specific frame-rate measurements, image-quality comparisons, or compatibility list. They therefore do not support a promised FPS gain or a guarantee of better image quality in this game. NVIDIA’s general descriptions explain what its DLSS features do, but they are not benchmark results for Tarkov.
