Battlestate Games studio head Nikita Buyanov’s August 2025 comment that the Steam page would be available “soon” is now historical, not a future announcement. The key detail for existing players: linking a Battlestate account does not provide Steam access—you must buy a Steam edition to launch the game through Steam.
When did Escape from Tarkov come to Steam?
Steam lists Escape from Tarkov with a release date of November 15, 2025, and identifies Battlestate Games as both developer and publisher. The date confirms the release has happened; it is not an announced upcoming launch. Steam store listing
In August 2025, Buyanov said the Steam page “will be available soon,” as reported by Engadget. That statement referred to the then-forthcoming listing, not the game’s current status.
Do existing owners have to buy Tarkov again on Steam?
Yes, if they want to play through Steam. Battlestate Games’ pinned Steam FAQ states: “To play Escape from Tarkov through Steam, you must purchase any edition of the game on Steam.” Linking your existing Battlestate Games account does not transfer a website purchase into a Steam license.
