The report also described player interest in choosing where to play as a Scav, but it did not establish that map choice was added.
What the Scav survey asked players about
Battlestate Games’ official Telegram announcement confirmed an in-game survey seeking additional feedback to improve Scav gameplay. It said respondents would receive an in-game reward. The notice confirms the survey’s existence and purpose, but does not publish its results or verify the subsequent changes described by Insider Gaming.
According to Insider Gaming’s March 7, 2025 account, the survey indicated that players wanted different things from the role. The report gave these figures:
- 64% wanted to be able to plan and control where their Scav character could go.
- 84% said they played Scav to make loot runs and find items for Hideout upgrades.
- 30% said Scav play should be truly random, including map selection.
- 6.6% said they played Scav to seek PvP fights with PMC characters.
- 2.6% said they never played as a Scav.
These are figures reported by Insider Gaming, not independently validated findings. Its account does not state the survey’s sample size, dates, or methodology, so the percentages should not be treated as representative of the entire player base. The report also does not establish whether respondents could select multiple answers; the groups should not be assumed to be mutually exclusive.

What changes the March 2025 report described
Player Scavs would enter raids later on most maps
Insider Gaming reported that player Scavs would spawn no earlier than 17 minutes into a raid on all maps except Reserve, Factory, and Ground Zero. That qualification matters: the report excluded those three maps from the timing rule rather than describing a universal 17-minute minimum.
Higher Fence reputation would improve Scav gear
The report also said Scav equipment had been adjusted so that a player’s higher Fence reputation would yield better gear. It described a relationship between reputation and equipment quality, but did not provide a gear-by-reputation table or exact thresholds.

Did players get to choose their Scav map?
The survey results as reported suggest substantial interest in controlling map selection: Insider Gaming said 64% wanted to plan and control where their Scav went, while 30% favored truly random play that included map choice. The report’s listed changes, however, concern spawn timing and gear quality; it does not say that players were given a map-selection option.

The spawn timing, Fence reputation adjustment, and mention of further planned optimizations are claims in a March 2025 report. The reviewed official Telegram notice confirms the feedback survey, but not those implementation details. The available evidence does not establish whether the planned optimizations later shipped or whether the reported rules remain in effect in 2026. Check current official patch notes or in-game behavior before relying on them as present-day mechanics.
