An invisible PMC can make a raid feel fundamentally unfair: a player may be shot by an opponent they cannot see, or be unable to locate a teammate. Battlestate Games has acknowledged related invisibility problems in specific situations, but the available evidence does not confirm that the exact invisible-PMC bug is active in the current build.
Why an invisible player is so disruptive in Tarkov
Escape from Tarkov depends on players being able to read a dangerous environment and identify other characters through sight and sound. When one player appears invisible to another, the affected player may not be able to interpret a fight or coordinate with a squad normally. That is why reports of an invisible PMC—or a player who “can’t see my teammate”—can provoke such intense frustration.
Those descriptions explain the player-facing experience; they do not establish one shared technical cause. An invisible PMC, an invisible Scav, and an invisible character in Arena may be separate faults, even if they look similar to the person affected.
What Battlestate Games has acknowledged
Invisible players in some Arena matches
Battlestate Games listed invisible players appearing in certain Escape from Tarkov: Arena matches among technical problems it was working to resolve. The notice said fixes would be included in upcoming updates. It describes a specific issue in Arena, not proof that every invisible-character report in the main game has the same cause.

Scavs invisible to some grouped players in the main game
In a separate notice, Battlestate Games said it had fixed known causes of Scavs appearing invisible to some players when they played as a group in Escape from Tarkov. The developer asked players who continued to encounter the problem to report it through the BSG Launcher, and to include video or screenshots if possible.
These notices establish that the developer addressed invisibility in particular cases. They do not confirm a universal fix for every invisible PMC report, nor do they establish the status of the exact bug in the current build.

What players have reported—and what those reports prove
Community posts describe situations where a teammate or opponent was not visible to one player, including reports involving Streets of Tarkov. A December 2025 post alleged that an invisible-PMC issue persisted after a fix. These accounts help explain the anger around the bug, but they are individual reports: they do not show how often the problem occurs, identify its technical cause, or prove that it remains widespread.
The “many players furious” framing appeared in coverage of a 2023 flare-up after players said the issue had resurfaced following an update. That is useful historical context, not a measure of current player sentiment or evidence that the same fault is active today.

Is the invisible PMC bug still happening?
The available notices and player accounts do not establish whether the exact invisible-PMC bug persists in the current Escape from Tarkov build. The official acknowledgements concern distinct situations—Arena players appearing invisible in certain matches, and Scavs appearing invisible to some grouped players in the main game. Community reports from different dates cannot establish current prevalence.
When comparing reports, details matter: whether the incident happened in the main game or Arena, whether the invisible character was a PMC, Scav, or teammate, whether it followed grouping or reconnecting, and which build was running. Without a current-build confirmation tied to those details, it is more accurate to describe the status as unconfirmed than to say the bug is definitely fixed or definitely ongoing.

How to report an invisible-player bug
If you encounter a reproducible visibility problem, Battlestate Games’ stated route is to submit a bug report through the BSG Launcher. Attach a video clip or screenshots if possible, and include the circumstances that could help distinguish the incident: game mode, map, character type, whether you were grouped, whether a reconnect occurred, and the game build if known. The developer has not verified a client-side setting, restart, or equipment change as a remedy for these reports.
