Escape from the House of Candy 2: Full Walkthrough and Perfect Ending

Escape from the House of Candy 2 is a compact point-and-click room-escape game. The reliable route is to collect the cup, spoon, ice cream, stick, key and letter clues; decode the shape syllables as wasanbon; enter ohagi on the wall panel; and, for the better ending, use the abacus a second time to obtain the gold star before leaving. The steps below reveal every code and both endings, so use the short hint route first if you want only a nudge.

What kind of game is Escape from the House of Candy 2?

This is an online escape puzzle built around one room and a chain of clickable objects. You search each view, inspect environmental clues, combine syllables, and enter answers into containers and panels. A 2008 game listing describes the basic objective as finding objects that help you get out of the house: Escapejuegos’ October 2008 listing. A historical walkthrough at CheatBook supplies the ordinary escape route, while a solution thread at Prise2Tete documents the additional step for the perfect ending.

Exit: The Abandoned Cabin - Kennerspiel Des Jahres Winner, Card-Based Family Escape Room Game for 1-4 Players, Ages 12+, Blue
  • Escape Room game for the home
  • 1 to 4 players; 1 to 2 hour playing time
  • Includes materials for single use
  • This game can be played only once, because you markup, fold, and tear the game materials
  • Search every view for a cup, spoon, ice cream and a stick.
  • Use the spoon on the bowl until a letter and a shape equation appear.
  • The abacus gives one number before the first escape and a different number after the ohagi panel.
  • Three shape clues become the syllables wa, san and bon. Follow the wall’s shape order rather than guessing.
  • The ordinary panel answer is ohagi; the perfect route requires one return trip before you click the door.

Complete walkthrough

The sequence below follows the documented room order. “Move left” means change to the next view in the game’s leftward navigation; object names are the labels used by the historical guides.

1. Take the cup by the door

Begin at the door. Pick up the cup standing near it. It is needed later when you combine it with the ice cream to expose the circle clue.

2. Get the spoon from the upper drawer

Move left. Open the upper drawer of the cabinet or furniture in this view and take the spoon. Keep it in your inventory; it is used twice, first on the bowl and then on the purple box.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

3. Decode the bowl

Use the spoon on the bowl. Continue the interaction until the letter o appears and the message square = san is revealed. If the first click only changes the bowl’s state, keep using the spoon until both pieces of information are visible.

4. Collect the ice cream

Move left again and pick up the ice cream. Do not discard it: the cup-and-ice-cream action is what reveals the circle clue near the end of the ordinary route.

  • MIRROR: You can find the mirror card in the Prison Break game. It is a reflective piece of cardboard and can be replaced with any household mirror.

5. Free the stick at the abacus

Move left to the abacus. Click near the middle of its upper bar to collect the stick. The clickable area is easy to miss if you click only on the beads. Once the stick is in your inventory, use it on the button above the abacus.

6. Read the first abacus value

After the button interaction, read the abacus. The value is 824. This is the code for the lockbox later in the route, not the code for the final perfect ending.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

7. Find the key in the purple box

Move left to the purple box. Use the spoon on its discolored area. The action exposes a key; collect it. The spoon has now served its two required purposes.

8. Record the wall’s shape order

Inspect the wall in this area and note the order of its shapes. You will combine that order with the syllables revealed by the square, triangle and circle clues. Recording the order now prevents a backtrack when the round box is ready.

9. Unlock the cabinet’s lower compartment

Return to the cabinet. Use the key on the lower compartment and take the blue letter. The archived guide identifies this letter as a; preserve it with the other letter clues.

11. Open the lockbox with 824

Enter 824 in the lockbox. Take the letter inside; the walkthrough identifies it as h. If the box rejects the entry, recheck that you activated the abacus button and are entering the three digits without spaces.

12. Empty the ice cream into the cup

View the cup in your inventory or the cup view, put the ice cream into it, and click to empty it. Read the clue at the bottom: circle = wa. This is the third syllable clue needed for the round box.

13. Build the round-box word

Use the wall’s recorded shape order with the three equations: circle supplies wa, square supplies san, and triangle supplies bon. In the wall’s order they form wasanbon. Enter wasanbon in the round box and collect the next letter it releases.

14. Enter ohagi on the wall panel

Use the letter clues gathered from the cabinet, the hidden spot, the lockbox and the round box to form ohagi. Enter ohagi on the wall panel, confirm the entry, and click the door. That completes the standard ending.

Why the clues produce wasanbon and ohagi

The syllable chain

The game does not ask you to translate a full sentence. It gives one syllable for each shape: square = san, triangle = bon and circle = wa. The wall supplies the order. Reading the shapes in that order yields wa-san-bon, written in the game as wasanbon. Entering that word in the round box is an inventory step: the box releases another letter rather than opening the exit immediately.

The final panel word

The collected letters are used to make ohagi, the answer recorded by the Prise2Tete solution. That page describes ohagi as a Japanese sweet rice-ball confection, which explains why a candy-house game uses the word, but the game only requires the spelling. Enter it exactly as ohagi; do not substitute a translation or add spaces.

Two different abacus readings

The first abacus reading, 824, opens the lockbox during the main route. It is deliberately different from the later value used for the perfect ending. Treat the two readings as separate states of the puzzle.

How to reach the perfect ending

The ordinary route ends as soon as you confirm ohagi and click the door. To obtain the documented perfect ending, do not leave immediately.

  1. After entering ohagi, return to the abacus view.
  2. Read the abacus again. Its new value is 51673.
  3. Enter 51673 in the round box.
  4. Collect the gold star that appears.
  5. Open the door. The game displays PERFECT END.

This alternate sequence is documented in the Prise2Tete solution thread; the CheatBook excerpt records the ordinary exit but stops before the gold-star step.

Standard ending versus perfect ending

Ending Required point What you see
Standard exit Confirm ohagi on the wall panel, then click the door. The regular escape conclusion.
Perfect ending After ohagi, revisit the abacus, use its later reading in the round box, take the gold star, then open the door. The game reports PERFECT END.

Stuck? Check these points first

The stick is not appearing

At the abacus, click around the middle of the upper bar rather than on the lower beads. The historical walkthrough specifically places the pickup near that upper-bar area. Once collected, the stick must also be used on the button above the abacus before a code can be read.

The lockbox will not accept the number

Make sure you are using the first abacus state and entering 824. The five-digit value belongs to the post-panel perfect-ending state and will not replace the lockbox code in the main route.

The round box seems to need a random word

Do not guess from the candy theme. Confirm all three shape equations, copy the wall’s shape order, and combine the syllables as wasanbon. The circle clue is hidden only after the ice cream is emptied from the cup.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

The wall panel rejects the final answer

Check that the panel receives ohagi, not wasanbon. The latter belongs in the round box. Also verify that you collected the letters from the lower cabinet, behind the cabinet, the lockbox and the round box; the walkthrough treats those pickups as the components of the final panel entry.

The door ends the game too soon

That is the standard route. For the perfect result, return to the abacus after the ohagi confirmation, use 51673 in the round box, take the gold star and only then click the door.

Historical context and availability

A July 13, 2008 Prise2Tete forum post attributes the sequel to a creator named Twinkle and notes that the house differs from the first game. That is a historical attribution, not evidence of present ownership, maintenance or an official download. The game listing and solution pages are archival secondary sources, and no current official hosting page, release status or technical requirement is established by them. If an old embedded version fails to load, that reflects the uncertain status of the original web game; the documented puzzle answers remain the route above.

For the shortest reliable memory aid: the spoon reveals san, the ice cream in the cup reveals wa, the wall gives the ordering, the triangle supplies bon, 824 opens the lockbox, wasanbon opens the round-box step, ohagi opens the panel, and 51673 is the extra abacus value that leads to the gold star and perfect ending.
