Use a walkthrough in the order the game expects

- Mark completed scenes. A simple list of episode, location, objective, and reward prevents repeated travel through the 125 locations.

Episode 1: establish the investigation
Begin by sweeping the first available area rather than immediately chasing a distant objective. Examine every close-up and collect items that are clearly reusable. When a character gives you a task, treat that task as the episode’s active objective and search the current area before backtracking.
For each locked object, ask three questions: is there a visible keyhole or slot, does the object belong to a machine or mechanism, and did a recent hidden-object scene award a matching item? The game’s adventure structure commonly links a scene reward to a nearby obstruction. If an item does not fit, return to the last location that mentioned the same subject instead of trying every hotspot randomly.
Episode 2: manage backtracking deliberately
As the investigation expands into Agartha, keep a written route. Separate locations into three groups: locations with an unresolved lock, locations containing a completed but revisitable hidden-object scene, and locations that are currently exhausted. Revisit only the first group unless a new inventory item clearly relates to a previously examined object.
When a mini-game appears, inspect its objective text and the state of every movable part before making changes. If the game allows a reset, use it before experimenting with a random sequence. Record the starting arrangement with a quick sketch or screenshot so that you can restore it after an unsuccessful attempt.

Episode 3: finish outstanding chains before leaving
Late-game areas often depend on a short chain of earlier actions. Before entering a final-looking mechanism, verify that you have completed all available hidden-object lists and that no character still has an unfinished request. Keep any gold punch-card progress in a separate checklist, because collectible hunting can require revisiting a scene that is already complete for story purposes.
If an exit does not trigger, do not assume the episode is broken. Recheck the most recent machine, the last close-up you entered, and every object that changed after the preceding mini-game. The troubleshooting procedure below addresses reports of scenes that appeared complete but did not advance.
Practical hints for the game’s puzzle types
Inventory and environmental puzzles
- Read item descriptions, if available, before combining objects. Similar shapes can serve different functions.
- Try an item on the whole object and on its visible sub-part, such as a panel, dial, hinge, or receptacle.
- After a successful use, look for a second interaction. Opening a cover may reveal a button or a new close-up rather than ending the puzzle.
- When no inventory item fits, search for a hotspot you have not opened. A required object may be hidden behind a zoom view or another scene transition.
Hidden-object scenes
Start with stable, unmistakable objects and leave ambiguous shapes until the end. Search in a consistent pattern—top left to bottom right—so that animated or cluttered areas are not skipped. If the list includes a color or descriptive term that could have several meanings, inspect the object after clicking it; the game’s accepted interpretation is the one that matters.
Before exiting, confirm that the list is visibly complete and that the scene awards its item. A player report on Steam describes a hidden-object area that could not be completed, but that is an individual report rather than proof of a universal defect. If your scene stalls, use the recovery steps in the dedicated troubleshooting section instead of repeatedly clicking the same area.

For a symbol, dial, slider, or circuit puzzle, identify what each control changes before attempting the final pattern. Change one control at a time and note the result. If the puzzle has a fixed arrangement, screenshot the starting state; if it has a rotation or shuffle mechanic, record the direction and number of moves.
A Steam discussion includes a report that a rotating-disc mini-game failed to unlock its reward. The report is anecdotal and may depend on an uncompleted interaction, a particular game state, or a version-specific issue. Do not treat a reported sequence as a guaranteed fix.

Keep story completion and collectible completion as separate goals. Finishing an episode does not necessarily prove that every punch card was collected, while collecting a card does not necessarily solve the episode’s next objective.
What to do when a scene will not complete
- Pause and inspect the objective. Make sure the game is asking for the action you think it is asking for.
- Re-enter every close-up in the current scene. Look for a drawer, panel, document, or machine control that was never activated.
- Check the inventory and recent rewards. A newly awarded item may need to be used immediately or combined before the exit becomes active.
- Replay the mini-game. If a reward did not appear, reset the puzzle if possible and complete it again without skipping an intermediate animation.
- Leave and return once. Reopening the location can refresh a state that did not register on the first pass.
- Consult the current community discussions. The Steam Community hub contains player discussions and reports. Search by the location or puzzle name and compare several reports before concluding that your copy has a reproducible bug.
These steps are troubleshooting suggestions, not a confirmed patch or guaranteed workaround. The available reports document individual stuck moments, not a defect affecting every player or version. Avoid deleting save data until you have exhausted reversible steps and, if possible, backed up your saves.
