SEGA announced a January 28, 2025 Steam release for Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O.. This is a specific release of Virtua Fighter 5, not the unannounced-in-2025 launch implied by speculation around the separate “New Virtua Fighter Project.”

FragPunk
NetEase and the official FragPunk site announced the global PC launch for March 6, 2025. NetEase later announced PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S availability on April 29. Treating those as one simultaneous launch would be inaccurate: the console versions followed the PC release.
Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds
SEGA gives September 26, 2025 as the Steam and Epic Games Store release date for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds and says it featured exhibition matches at Esports World Cup 2025. That supports including it as a competitive game release with a tournament appearance, not claiming the appearance alone demonstrates a sustained esports ecosystem.

Games from the original preview that were not new 2025 releases
Fortnite Ballistic launched in 2024 Early Access
Epic’s Fortnite Ballistic listing identifies the mode as a 5v5 tactical FPS in Early Access and gives December 11, 2024 as its release date. It may have been anticipated for a later full release in the early-2025 roundup, but that forecast is not the mode’s first release date.
Gears of War: E-Day is listed for 2026
The current Xbox listing gives Gears of War: E-Day an October 6, 2026 release date. It therefore does not belong in a factual list of 2025 releases.

The January roundup described Deadlock and Splitgate 2 as anticipated or expected. The cited sources do not establish their actual 2025 launch status or dates, so neither should be presented as a confirmed 2025 release on that basis.
Why tournament lineups are not release lists
The International Esports Federation named Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, eFootball, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, and PUBG MOBILE as official titles for its 2025 season. That establishes participation in the federation’s competitions, not that those games first released in 2025. A season roster answers which games are being played in a competition; it is not a launch calendar.

What “every” can and cannot mean
No single official definition determines whether every competitive multiplayer game counts as an esports game. A complete global list would also need to resolve regional availability, platform releases, Early Access, and whether a title must have organized competition.
