Start by learning where the most-used information lives, rather than trying to master every menu at once. The beginner guide identifies the needs icons, Zoi Card, Relationships panel, and smartphone as the essentials for the opening hours.

Autonomy is especially useful when you are not actively directing a timed task, work session, or skill grind. If you switch it off for closer control, watch the needs icons yourself and schedule breaks. The beginner guide warns that starvation and sleep deprivation can kill a Zoi, so do not leave a manually controlled character unattended for long stretches.
Keep character creation focused
It is easy to spend the opening session adjusting details instead of playing. The current beginner guide recommends choosing a face, one trait, and two characteristics, then starting the simulation. It says facial sculpting and age group are the choices that genuinely stick, while ambitions can later be changed from the Zoi Card. Its notes on traits reflect changes through June 2026, so older advice describing traits as permanently fixed may no longer apply.
How to make money early
For a straightforward starting income, use the Career app on the smartphone to find a job. Other routes offer more direct control or rely on different skills and equipment; businesses are a later commitment because they require starting capital.

What career optimization advice can—and cannot—tell you
An August 11, 2026 guide by EllaEstella on the inZOI Forums reports tests of five active careers. It describes a pay ladder of 300, 600, 1,200, and 1,500 Mew, with interviews, promotion reviews, and exams in the tested careers. The player also reports using repeated occupation interactions and short Unit Plan crafting tasks to improve performance. These are community observations, not official guarantees of pay or promotion timing, and may change with updates.
Build a starter home that works
Begin with the rooms and furnishings your Zoi needs, then check that the layout is usable instead of spending early funds on an elaborate design. The current beginner guide reports that walls, handrails, rooms, platforms, and roofs became free to place in December 2025, making basic construction cheaper than older guides may indicate. It also reports that furniture price affects performance, including sleep restoration; treat that as guide-reported game advice rather than a universal guarantee.
- Open Build Mode with I, or use the current control shown in your settings if the shortcut differs.
- Place a compact set of essential rooms and furnishings. The tips guide recommends using Alt for free placement when positioning items.
- Switch to Live Mode and check that doors, furniture, and walkways remain accessible to your Zoi.
- Save manually after substantial progress, as the tips guide advises.
Testing pathways in Live Mode catches a practical problem that a polished build view can hide: a door or furnishing may block the route your Zoi needs to use.

Some useful systems are patch-specific. In KRAFTON’s June 19, 2026 update notes, the mini map can function as GPS navigation to a chosen destination and rotate to match the Zoi’s facing direction. The notes also introduce an experimental advanced driving mode and a customizable ring menu. Because advanced driving is explicitly described as experimental, do not assume its behavior is identical across all configurations or later versions.
KRAFTON’s update notes state: “Crafting is possible on all tables.” That is useful when choosing where to craft, but the statement is tied to the June 19, 2026 notes; check current in-game behavior after later patches.

Compare your operating system, processor, memory, graphics hardware and VRAM, and SSD space against the row for your platform. The listed macOS and Windows figures differ, so do not apply one platform’s requirements to the other. The Help Center is the appropriate place to recheck compatibility because requirements may be revised.
