In Parcel Simulator, inspect each parcel against the current criteria before deciding whether to approve or deny it, then route approved parcels by cargo type and shipping schedule. Learn that loop manually on a small batch before automating it; add scanners, diverters, and storage only when you understand what problem each one solves.
How to inspect parcels and make the right decision
The game’s core loop asks you to examine parcel labels and contents, decide whether each parcel passes, and send it onward appropriately. The official Steam listing identifies weight, destination, cargo type, barcodes, and contents among the inspection elements, and describes approval and denial against changing criteria.
- Read the current criteria first. Use the rules shown in your game rather than relying on a remembered checklist. The available description does not establish a complete, fixed list of prohibited goods, country rules, stamps, or weight limits.
- Compare the parcel with each relevant criterion. Check its label details and contents as applicable. Use barcode entry or scanning where the game calls for it.
- Make the approval decision explicit. Approve a parcel that meets the displayed requirements; deny one that does not. Pay attention to any decision sticker already attached and follow the current in-game rules instead of automatically sending every parcel through the same checks again.
The point of inspection is not merely to keep a belt moving: a parcel can be correctly checked and still go wrong if it receives the wrong decision or is sent down an unsuitable route.
Route approved parcels by cargo type and timing
After the decision, match the parcel to the appropriate cargo route and shipping opportunity. The official listing describes routing by cargo type and shipping on suitable days, so treating routing and inspection as separate checks helps prevent a valid parcel from being sent to the wrong destination or at the wrong time.

- Check the parcel’s cargo type before choosing a door or route.
- Consider the shipping schedule shown in the game; a parcel may need to wait for a suitable shipping opportunity.
- If the route or timing is not clear, pause and inspect the available in-game information rather than adding a guessed rule to your workflow.
Start with a small, understandable warehouse line
Scanners, conveyor belts, storage, and automation are among the systems described on the official game listing. Player-authored Steam guides offer more detailed conveyor layouts, but those are recommendations rather than universal blueprints, and they can depend on unlocks and game version. A gradual approach makes it easier to see where a mistake or bottleneck begins.
- Process a small batch manually. Learn how the current criteria map to what you see on a parcel before trying to automate every check.
- Automate repeated checks. Add the scanner types you have unlocked when you can identify which recurring task each one handles.
- Make pass and fail outputs easy to distinguish. Community guides describe combining checks with sticker checkers or appliers and separating parcels that still need decisions. Treat these as layout ideas to adapt, not required components for every build.
- Add cargo diverters when routing becomes useful. First understand the decision step; then direct parcels to the routes you actually need.
- Expand after observing the line. Watch where parcels stop or accumulate before adding more belts, scanners, or storage.
Rushin Trouble’s player-authored “Conveyors for dummies” guide reports that it was written for version 1.0.5.2 and later updated for 2.0.0.1. Earthquake’s “Parcel Simulator Stats and Facts” guide is another player resource, last updated in July 2025. Their specific dimensions, costs, unlocks, and component counts should not be treated as current instructions without checking your in-game shop and the current build.

When to use storage and buffers
Storage is useful when parcels should not continue immediately—for example, when a route is not ready for a parcel’s shipping opportunity or when the line needs room to keep moving. The official listing names storage systems as part of warehouse automation; Earthquake’s community guide specifically recommends racks for parcels waiting on a suitable shipping opportunity. Use storage to solve a timing or flow issue you can see, rather than adding it by default.
If belts back up, the newer player guide also discusses input buffers and invalid-parcel handling. A guide author for the older “Stats and Facts” guide warns that launchers can create pile-ups when parcels have nowhere clear to land. That is a version-sensitive observation, not a guarantee about every current setup: try any fast-moving device in a small section and watch its output before extending the arrangement across the warehouse.

Choose a layout that fits your current stage
| Approach | Best suited to | Trade-off |
|---|---|---|
| Manual checks | Learning what the criteria mean and understanding individual parcel decisions. | More direct player attention; fewer automated steps. |
| Compact scanner line | Automating repeated checks while keeping the process easy to follow. | Less routing complexity, but it may not address every cargo route or timing need. |
| Expanded line with diverters | Separating outputs and directing parcels across the routes you have unlocked. | More automation to understand and maintain; add it when it solves a visible need. |
| Storage or buffering | Holding parcels that should wait or easing a flow problem you have observed. | Requires attention to where parcels enter and leave; storage does not by itself correct a wrong inspection or route. |
The game supports warehouse expansion and additional automation, but a bigger layout is not automatically a better beginner layout. A compact line is easier to understand; expand when the current arrangement makes a specific check, route, or timing problem hard to manage.

Dansan Digital’s developer-authored Steam Community update, dated September 25, 2026, describes storage rack signs, a T-joiner conveyor, shop order history, and performance and quality-of-life work. It also notes that an Unreal Engine update may cause issues with outdated third-party mods or loaders. Because community layouts and mod compatibility can change with updates, check the current in-game options and update notes before following older instructions or relying on a mod.
