Use Future Sight to make the whole projected turn safe, not merely to choose the attack with the largest number. Read when each enemy will act, identify the first unacceptable outcome, then test weakness attacks, defence, delay, or cancellation until the forecasted sequence is manageable. Keep a flexible party with at least one answer to the current weakness, one defensive or order-changing option, and Wade’s inherited classes configured for the matchup.
Eternal Anima is still unreleased. The principles below are based on the combat information publicly described for the pre-release game; exact party-size rules, resource costs, Break thresholds, initiative formulas, and some command names have not been published.

What Future Sight does in Eternal Anima
Eternal Anima is a single-player, turn-based JRPG built around Future Sight. Instead of committing commands while guessing what enemies might do, you see a forecast of enemy timing and the expected result of their actions. The forecast changes as you select commands, so each choice is part of a planning puzzle rather than an isolated damage calculation.

The official Steam description summarizes the system as using Future Sight to foresee enemy actions and strategically rewrite the future. Marvelous’ game information also describes commands that can delay or cancel enemy moves. That makes the forecast an active planning tool: you are not just reading an initiative bar, you are trying to alter the sequence until the dangerous action is removed, postponed, or made survivable.

Read the forecast as a sequence
For every visible enemy action, note four things:
- Who acts: the enemy or party member occupying that point in the timeline.
- When it acts: its position relative to your characters and other enemies.
- Who is targeted: a single character, several characters, or an outcome whose target is not yet obvious.
- What is expected to happen: damage or another result shown by the preview.
The first enemy action is not automatically the most important one. A later attack can be the real emergency if an earlier command leaves a character unable to respond, or if the later hit lands after a weakness attack has moved the order. Always inspect the complete visible sequence before choosing a command.
Future Sight updates after your selections
Choose a command, then read the forecast again. A weakness hit may move an enemy later, while a delay or cancellation command can remove an action altogether. Defence may leave the order unchanged but reduce the danger of the projected hit. The useful question is not “Which move has the highest immediate damage?” It is “What will the final timeline look like after all selected commands?”
A repeatable turn-planning routine
Use this process at the start of every important turn. It remains useful whether you are fighting a group of ordinary enemies or a boss whose attack would force a recovery turn.
- Read the entire available timeline. Do not select the first character’s command from memory. Check every enemy action that the interface currently forecasts and notice whether the order changes as you plan.
- Find the first dangerous outcome. Identify the action, its target, and its expected result. A hit is dangerous when it can defeat the target, leave that character unable to execute the next plan, or combine badly with another forecasted action.
- Classify the result. Mark the projected outcome as manageable, dangerous, or unacceptable for the targeted character. A survivable hit may still be strategically bad if it removes the only character who can exploit the current weakness.
- Test the matchup’s weakness option. Select a move that attacks the known weakness and inspect whether it changes the enemy’s position, creates Break pressure, or leaves the dangerous action in place. Keep it only if the resulting sequence improves the turn.
- Test order-changing commands. If the weakness attack is not enough, try a delay or cancellation command. These actions can be better than another damage move when they remove the enemy’s most harmful opportunity.
- Test defence. If the projected hit is survivable and no safe order-changing option is available, defence can preserve the party while you wait for a better opening. It is also useful when repeating the same weakness would trigger weakness defence.
- Re-check every important selection. A command that looked safe before another character acted may become poor after the order shifts. Re-read the forecast after each move that changes timing, target, or expected outcome.
- Confirm before committing. Verify the first enemy action, its target, and the expected result one final time. Commit only when the complete projected sequence is acceptable, even if the chosen plan deals less immediate damage.
When the best turn deals less damage
Suppose a large attack leaves an enemy’s turn untouched and the forecast shows a dangerous hit on your support character. A smaller weakness attack that delays the enemy, a cancellation command that removes the hit, or defence that keeps the target healthy can all be superior. The value comes from preserving the next decision, not from the damage number displayed for the current command.
When to stop changing the plan
Stop testing alternatives once the projected sequence is safe enough and the remaining improvement would require an unconfirmed assumption about hidden mechanics. Pre-release information does not establish universal damage values, fixed initiative formulas, or guaranteed boss patterns. Plan from the forecast that is actually displayed rather than from a supposed rotation.
Building a beginner party without a fixed “best” composition
No authoritative universal party composition has been published for Eternal Anima. The safest beginner setup is therefore a set of functions, not a permanent list of characters or classes. Build around the problem shown by Future Sight and keep enough flexibility to change damage types when an enemy adapts.

Keep these functions covered
- Current weakness answer: at least one reliable way to exploit the damage type the forecasted enemy currently exposes.
- Defensive answer: a character or inherited skill that can reduce the cost of accepting a manageable hit.
- Order-changing answer: access to delay or cancellation when the forecast shows an unacceptable action.
- Follow-up capacity: enough surviving actions to benefit if a weakness hit moves the enemy later or builds Break pressure.
- Flexibility: a second damage type, a different inherited class, or another way to contribute after weakness defence appears.
This does not mean every battle needs one dedicated role per character. One character may combine offence and delay, while another changes inherited classes to cover a new weakness. The important test is whether the planned party can answer the specific forecast in front of it.
Use Wade’s Psychometry to fill gaps
Wade’s Psychometry reads memories in objects and grants inherited classes and abilities. The publisher presents this as a way to combine inheritances into a personal style. For a beginner, treat those inheritances as matchup tools rather than as a single build that is always optimal.
Before entering a fight, ask which function your current setup lacks. If the party can hit the weakness but cannot stop the forecasted attack, an inherited class or skill that supplies defence, delay, or cancellation may be more valuable than another offensive option. If an enemy gains weakness defence after repeated hits, change the inherited damage type or move Wade into a role that remains useful while another character takes over weakness pressure.
A practical flexible setup
Use one character as the party’s dependable weakness attacker, one as the most reliable defensive or order-changing option, and Wade as the adaptable slot whose inherited classes cover whichever function the forecast lacks. The remaining slot, if the final game allows it, should reinforce the current matchup rather than duplicate a damage type that the enemy is already defending against. Exact party-size rules have not been disclosed, so treat this as a role framework rather than a confirmed four-person formation.
Change the setup when the forecast changes
Do not lock a class choice simply because it performed well in the previous battle. If the next encounter’s forecast highlights a different weakness or a dangerous action that your current party cannot interrupt, reconfigure inherited classes before trying to force the old plan. The game’s publicly described systems support this kind of adaptation, but encounter-specific optimal combinations have not been confirmed.

Weakness attacks matter for two reasons: they exploit the enemy’s current vulnerability and can improve turn order. Public combat guidance describes weakness hits as capable of creating Break pressure and moving an enemy later. That creates time for another party member to act before the enemy’s next opportunity.

Use a weakness hit when it improves the timeline
Select the weakness attack, then inspect the updated forecast. Keep it when the enemy is delayed, Break pressure is increased, or the attack otherwise removes the dangerous sequence. If the enemy still acts at the same critical point and the hit does not create a useful follow-up, compare it with defence, delay, or cancellation instead.
Recognize weakness defence
Enemies may gain weakness defence after being hit. When that happens, assume the previous weakness has temporarily lost value and reassess rather than repeating the same move automatically. The available guidance does not establish a universal duration, exact reduction, or fixed trigger for weakness defence, so use the state shown in the game rather than an assumed number.
Rotate damage types
Once weakness defence appears, rotate to another damage type if the forecast supports it. Wade’s inherited classes can help provide that second option. If no alternate type produces a safe timeline, defend while the projected hit is manageable, delay the enemy, or cancel the move that makes the sequence unacceptable.
Break is pressure, not a guaranteed script
Break pressure should be treated as a way to improve tempo, not as proof that a fixed boss rotation will follow. Exact Break thresholds and encounter-specific results have not been disclosed. Do not promise a one-turn Break, a guaranteed stun, or a universal number of weakness hits. Confirm the state and the changed forecast in the current battle.
Choosing between attack, defence, delay, and cancellation
| Situation shown by Future Sight | First option to test | Why it can be correct | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| The enemy exposes a weakness and its next action is acceptable | Weakness attack | It may add damage while creating Break pressure or moving the enemy later. | Whether the updated order actually creates a better follow-up. |
| A weakness hit leaves a dangerous action in place | Delay or cancellation | Removing or postponing the action protects the targeted character and preserves tempo. | Whether the enemy’s next projected action is now manageable. |
| The projected hit is survivable but the party needs time | Defence | It can reduce the cost of accepting the current sequence while you wait for a better opening. | Whether the defended character can still execute the next necessary plan. |
| The enemy has gained weakness defence | Rotate damage type or change Wade’s inherited class | The previous weakness may no longer provide enough value. | Whether the new type or class changes the forecast safely. |
| Several enemies act before your next useful response | Prioritize the first unacceptable action | Stopping one critical move can be more valuable than spreading damage. | Target, expected result, and the order after each selection. |
Worked planning examples
Example: a dangerous single-target hit
The forecast shows an enemy attacking the character who is your only answer to the current weakness. A high-damage move from another party member does not change that enemy’s turn. First test the weakness attack from the correct character; if it moves the enemy behind your party, keep it. If it does not, test delay or cancellation. Defence is the fallback when the hit is survivable and no order-changing command produces a safer result. The priority is preserving the weakness answer for the following sequence.
Example: repeated weakness attacks trigger weakness defence
Your first weakness hit improves the order, but the enemy then gains weakness defence. Repeating the same move is no longer an automatic best choice. Re-read the forecast, switch to a different damage type if available, or have Wade change inherited class. If the alternate option is worse than accepting the current hit, defend and wait rather than spending commands on ineffective repetition.

- Please Note: To reach 10Gbps speed, keep the cable under 3.3 ft. For USB A Male to USB C adapters, try flipping the USB C connector. USB C Male to USB A adapters support bidirectional 10Gbps transfer within 3.3 ft
Example: a safe but low-damage turn
The enemy’s projected attack is survivable, but taking it would leave a character unable to execute the next planned command. Defence may preserve that character’s ability to act, while a delay command may move the enemy behind the party. Either can beat a larger attack that leaves the original timeline intact. Future Sight makes this trade visible before you commit.

Troubleshooting common beginner mistakes
“I chose the biggest attack and still lost.”
Return to the forecast and identify which enemy action remained untouched. If that action was unacceptable, replace damage with delay, cancellation, or defence. The largest single number is not the objective; a safe final sequence is.

“My weakness move stopped working.”
Check whether the enemy gained weakness defence. Rotate damage types, change Wade’s inherited class, or defend while waiting for a better opening. Do not assume the same weakness has identical value throughout the encounter.
“I cannot tell what to interrupt.”
Compare each projected action by target and consequence. Interrupt the first move that defeats a character, removes your only weakness answer, or creates an unsafe chain. If no action reaches that threshold, keep the forecasted sequence and spend the turn on the weakness attack or defence that improves the next decision.
“My party works in one fight but not the next.”
That is expected from a forecast-driven system. Reconfigure Wade’s inherited classes and preserve at least one alternate damage type or defensive answer. A setup that is strong against one weakness pattern is not automatically universal.
Quick wins for a faster PC:

Treat the number cautiously until the final game or official documentation confirms it. Public pre-release information does not establish fixed Break thresholds for every encounter.
The beginner rule to remember
Read Future Sight first, then choose the command that leaves the safest useful timeline. Exploit weaknesses when they improve order or Break pressure, rotate when weakness defence appears, and use Wade’s Psychometry inheritances to cover the function the current forecast demands. In Eternal Anima, a modest action that removes an enemy’s opportunity can be a stronger turn than a spectacular attack that leaves the future unchanged.
