Want a game you can play now? Start with an established option such as Code Vein or Scarlet Nexus. Eternal Blade is a forthcoming single-player open-world action RPG from Shibui Labs LLC, and Steam still lists it as “Coming soon.” Its announced demo dates have passed as of October 7, 2026, so check the live Steam listing before counting on access. If you are interested in a new manga-connected world and timing-focused combat, it is one to watch; there is not enough established evidence to call it better than the alternatives.
What is Eternal Blade?
Eternal Blade is Shibui Labs LLC’s open-world action RPG set in the Baransu Realm. The developer presents it as part of the wider Shibui Universe and says the game is being developed alongside manga and an anime screenplay. That shared-world premise may appeal if you want original fantasy lore connected to a broader story, but it does not establish that the game’s narrative is stronger than another title’s.
The game is single-player, and its advertised combat centers on reading enemies, defending, and landing a perfect parry to build power. That is the developer’s description, not an independent hands-on assessment. See the official Eternal Blade site and Steam page for the current pitch and listing.
How Eternal Blade compares with established alternatives
“Manga-inspired action game” covers different combat systems and world designs. These options are useful comparison points, not interchangeable games or a quality ranking.

Which game should you choose?
Choose Eternal Blade if its planned design is what you want
- You are comfortable waiting for a forthcoming release or verifying whether its demo is currently accessible.
- You want to explore a new open-world fantasy setting and are curious about a game connected to manga and other Shibui Universe material.
- The advertised emphasis on timing, enemy reads, defense, and parries sounds more appealing than choosing a game solely for its anime-inspired look.
Choose Code Vein if you want to investigate dark, demanding action-RPG design
Bandai Namco describes Code Vein in that lane. It is a reasonable comparison for readers drawn to challenging action and dark anime aesthetics, but the sources here do not establish a direct mechanical match with Eternal Blade.
Choose Scarlet Nexus if you want an established single-player anime action RPG
Steam identifies Scarlet Nexus as an anime action RPG and single-player game. Use its own store page to judge whether its specific combat and structure suit you; the category alone does not mean it plays like Eternal Blade.

Consider Tales of Arise for a broader anime-RPG alternative
Bandai Namco’s catalogue lists Tales of Arise. It is another option to explore if your priority is an established anime-styled RPG rather than a close combat comparison.
What is known about Eternal Blade’s demo?
Shibui Labs announced an October 2, 2026 demo launch and a Steam Next Fest appearance from October 19–26, 2026. Steam’s listing describes a free demo and estimates 1–2 hours for the demo’s main quest plus side activities. That duration is a developer-provided plan, not a measured playtime. Because the Steam page still shows “Coming soon” and says the game is not yet available, verify its current status directly rather than assuming the announced demo can be downloaded.
