Euro Truck Simulator 2 Trainers: Features, Compatibility, and Setup

An Euro Truck Simulator 2 (ETS2) trainer is third-party software that changes game values or enables effects such as unlimited money, frozen time, no fatigue, or no damage. The important limitation is compatibility: the publicly documented standalone trainers below target old ETS2 builds, while a current app listing may detect your installed version without naming which build it supports. Identify your exact game version first, back up your profile, and treat every trainer as an unofficial modification rather than an SCS tool.

What an ETS2 trainer actually does

A trainer runs alongside ETS2 and modifies values while the game is running. Depending on the program, it may edit money and experience, alter fatigue or damage, refill fuel, freeze time, or move the truck. That is different from a normal ETS2 mod: a mod generally adds or replaces game content through the game’s mod manager, whereas a trainer injects or changes runtime values.

Feature lists are not interchangeable. One utility may only adjust a profile balance; another may expose a menu of toggles. A trainer can also stop working after an ETS2 update even if its name and download page remain unchanged.

Documented trainer choices and their limits

The following comparison uses the features and version labels published by each project. “Supports” means the repository’s own description, not a current compatibility guarantee.

Option Published ETS2 version information Operating system or method Documented functions What that evidence does not establish
EuroTruckTrainer by PokkeYuri ETS2 1.49.2.23s (64-bit) Standalone trainer; the README instructs users to load a profile, start the trainer, connect, and adjust the balance Money/balance editing It does not establish support for a current stable build, later 1.49 releases, or any particular storefront.
SloanPC ImGui menu ETS2 version 1.45 DirectX 11 menu injected after selecting a profile Set money and XP, repair, refuel, disable damage, and teleport to the camera The version is old; the description does not prove that the menu works on current 64-bit builds or after game updates.
WeMod ETS2 listing The listing does not name the current supported ETS2 build Windows-only app; it detects the installed game version and reports whether that version is supported No fatigue, unlimited money, money-earned multiplier, expense reduction, add money, max level, add experience points, unlimited skill points, no damage, unlimited fuel, and freeze time (11 options) Its general version-detection statement is not a promise that your installed build is supported. The page can change.

The two GitHub examples are therefore useful as illustrations of how quickly trainer compatibility ages, not as recommendations for a current installation. A version number in a README is a boundary on the author’s stated scope.

Check your ETS2 build before downloading anything

Build identification matters because game updates change executable code and memory addresses that runtime tools rely on. In September 2026, SCS announced a 1.61 open beta and explicitly described it as a beta rather than a stable public release at that time. SCS’s February 12, 2026 notes for 1.58 also described revised vehicle physics and handling. Neither announcement confirms that any trainer works with those releases.

  1. Record the installed build. Use the version information shown by your ETS2 installation or storefront and note whether you are on a beta branch. Keep the complete number, not just “1.61” or “latest.”
  2. Read the trainer’s support indicator or README. For an app that performs automatic detection, wait for its result. A status such as unsupported means you should not assume that a toggle is safe to try; an offer to request an update is not a compatibility certification.
  3. Compare architecture and graphics requirements. The PokkeYuri README specifically states 64-bit for its target build. SloanPC describes a DirectX 11 ImGui menu. Those details are project-specific and should not be generalized to other tools.
  4. Decide whether your branch is appropriate for testing. Open-beta executables can change during testing. If you need a stable save, avoid treating beta support as equivalent to stable-release support.

The available evidence does not establish the latest stable ETS2 build as of October 13, 2026, so no honest guide can name a trainer as “current-compatible” without checking the tool against your own installation.

How to prepare a profile and reduce the chance of losing progress

Runtime editing can change a save in ways a trainer author did not document. Make a manual copy of your profile before the first launch with a trainer, and keep an untouched backup outside the game’s profile folder. Test with a disposable profile before opening your main career.

  • Close cloud-sync conflicts before replacing or restoring a profile. Keep one clearly labeled backup for the pre-trainer state.
  • Do not edit money, XP, skill points, fuel, damage, and time simultaneously on your first test. A single change makes an unexpected result easier to diagnose.
  • Keep the trainer and the game at matching privilege levels if the program requires it; do not disable security software broadly just to force an injection.
  • Stop if the game crashes, the menu appears in the wrong process, or values change without an in-game action. Restore the backup rather than repeatedly retrying.

Typical setup sequence for a supported trainer

Exact buttons differ by project, but the documented workflows follow a common order. Use the tool’s own current instructions when they differ.

  1. Start ETS2 and select the intended profile. Do this before connecting a profile editor or injection menu. The standalone README examples both place profile selection before the trainer’s final connection step.
  2. Launch the trainer with ETS2 already running. A utility that expects a live process cannot operate against the game menu or a closed executable.
  3. Connect or inject only after the profile is loaded. PokkeYuri’s instructions say to load a profile, start the trainer, connect, and then adjust the balance. SloanPC’s description says to inject after selecting a profile.
  4. Pause the game before toggling an option. A WeMod community post dated August 24, 2022 advised users to pause before enabling or disabling mods. That is an older community instruction, not a current SCS procedure, but pausing limits changes while the simulation is advancing.
  5. Enable one function and make a small change. For example, add a modest amount of money rather than applying every multiplier and maximum-value option at once. Observe the result, save normally, and then close the trainer before testing another function.
  6. Restore the normal state before quitting. Turn off temporary effects such as freeze time or no fatigue, then exit the game through its normal menu. If the game becomes unstable, close it and restore the untouched profile.

Never assume that a switch labeled “unlimited” is permanent, reversible, or compatible with an existing save. The feature name describes the author’s intended effect, not a guarantee about how ETS2 stores the resulting data.

What the 11-option app listing includes

The Windows-only WeMod listing groups its ETS2 functions around progression, economy, vehicle condition, and simulation timing:

Category Listed options Practical effect
Progression Max level; add experience points; unlimited skill points Accelerates or removes normal progression limits.
Economy Unlimited money; money-earned multiplier; expense reduction; add money Changes income, costs, or the account balance.
Vehicle and driver condition No fatigue; no damage; unlimited fuel Removes selected operating constraints.
Simulation time Freeze time Stops the listed time value while enabled.

The listing says the app detects your installed game version and indicates whether that version is supported. If it is not supported, it offers an option to try or request an update. This is useful for checking a build at launch, but it does not identify a particular supported build on the page and should not be read as proof that a beta or newly patched executable will work.

Trainer versus official ETS2 modding tools

If your goal is to create trucks, maps, traffic, sounds, or other content, a trainer is the wrong tool. SCS’s official game mod-tools page directs users to the dedicated SCS Modding Wiki. The wiki describes itself as “the ultimate source for all official SCS modding tools, their documentation and tutorials.” Those resources explain content creation and game tooling; they are not money editors, runtime cheats, or endorsements of third-party trainers.

Choose a trainer when you need a runtime value change

A trainer fits a narrow use case: you want to alter an existing session’s money, fatigue, damage, fuel, time, or progression without building a content mod. Expect version checks, limited documentation, and possible breakage after updates.

Choose official modding documentation when you need new content

Use SCS’s tools and wiki when you want an installable mod with defined assets and configuration. A content mod can be managed through ETS2’s normal mod workflow; it should not be confused with an injected process editor.

Terms, account risk, and security limits

Do not rely on claims that a trainer is “undetected,” “safe,” or ban-proof. The PokkeYuri README warns that using its trainer may affect the experience and may violate game terms, but it does not cite an SCS policy or document enforcement outcomes.

The cited Epic Games Terms of Service prohibit use, development, distribution, or presence of cheats for Epic Licensed Products. That is an Epic policy scope; it does not independently establish an ETS2-specific rule for Steam or prove what SCS will enforce in an individual case. Check the terms that apply to the storefront and account on which you play.

No security testing establishes that any listed download is malware-free. A repository’s feature description is not a security audit. Avoid tools that demand unrelated credentials, ask you to replace system files, or instruct you to disable protection permanently. Scan downloads with your normal security tools, keep backups, and stop if behavior differs from the documented function.

Troubleshooting by symptom

The trainer says the game is unsupported

Confirm the complete ETS2 build and branch, close the game, and check again after a trainer update. Do not substitute an old label such as 1.45 or 1.49.2.23s for a current compatibility result.

The menu does not appear

Verify that ETS2 is running, the correct profile is loaded, and the tool’s documented graphics or architecture assumptions match your installation. If the project requires injection after profile selection, performing it earlier can fail. Do not keep escalating permissions or disabling security software without a documented reason.

The game crashes or the save behaves strangely

Turn off the trainer, restart ETS2 normally, and load the untouched backup. Re-test with one feature on a disposable profile. If the crash began after a game update, treat version incompatibility as the leading explanation rather than repeatedly editing the main save.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

A value changes but does not persist

Some effects are runtime-only, while others write to a profile. Save normally, exit, and check the result without the trainer. If the value reverts, use the project’s documented workflow rather than assuming the effect is permanent.

How to make a sensible choice

  1. Start with your objective. For a single balance adjustment, a money-focused utility is narrower than an 11-option menu. For content creation, use official modding tools instead.
  2. Require an explicit build match. A named old version is evidence of historical scope, not evidence for your installation.
  3. Prefer transparent behavior. Read the feature list, startup sequence, and limitations before running anything. Avoid products that make unverifiable security or enforcement promises.
  4. Test reversibility. Use a backed-up profile and one option at a time so you can return to an unmodified save.
  5. Recheck after every ETS2 update. The 1.61 open beta announcement and 1.58 physics changes demonstrate why a trainer can become stale even when the game’s title has not changed.

An ETS2 trainer can be convenient for a controlled single-player experiment, but the evidence supports only feature descriptions and historical version scopes—not a universal, current-compatible recommendation. Your installed build, storefront terms, and willingness to maintain backups should determine whether you use one at all.
