Developed by Paradox Tinto and published by Paradox Interactive, it is available for PC through Steam. The game spans a campaign beginning in 1337, and its central systems combine population and society management with diplomacy, trade, economics, warfare, and logistics.
What is Europa Universalis V?
Europa Universalis V is a historical grand strategy simulation in which you guide a nation through nearly five centuries of political and social change. Its campaign begins in 1337, and Paradox describes hundreds of nations and societies to choose from. The official game overview and announcement emphasize a larger, more detailed map and a population-based model that tracks cultural and religious tensions, estates, and population needs.
Those population systems sit alongside diplomacy, trade, economic management, military affairs, and logistics. At launch, Paradox also highlighted managing food and other necessities, trade markets, social factions, and changing values; these make society and resources part of the same strategic picture as territorial and diplomatic decisions.
When did Europa Universalis V release?
Paradox Interactive announced the game on 8 May 2025, then released it on 4 November 2025. Paradox Tinto developed the game, and Paradox Interactive published it. The publisher’s purchase page lists Steam as the platform; Steam lists single-player and multiplayer, including online co-op and PvP.
