EVERSPACE 2: Wrath of the Ancients is a released expansion, launched May 12, 2025. Its main story continues after the base game, but some of its Okkar side quests open during the campaign. To start the main expansion quest, return to Homebase and begin “A Different Ending.”
What does Wrath of the Ancients add?
ROCKFISH Games describes the expansion as a post-game continuation about attacks on human settlements and rising tension between humans and the Okkar. Its official feature list includes four new or expanded star systems, dozens of locations, secrets and puzzles, new enemies and bosses, weapons and gear, Okkar equipment that can be upgraded, resources, blueprints and additional music. The expansion also adds the flyable Wraith Okkar ship. These are the developer’s listed features, not independently tested findings. The Wraith is built around risk and damage
In its spoiler-light getting-started guide, Xbox Wire describes the Wraith as a high-risk, high-reward fighter. Its “Spectral Form” ability lets hull decay while damage increases; when hull reaches zero, the state ends and the ship returns to full health. That is the guide’s description of the mechanic, rather than a hands-on evaluation. Read the Xbox Wire guide.
Do you need to finish the base game first?
Finish the base game before starting the expansion’s main story: it follows the events of EVERSPACE 2. You do not have to wait until the end of the campaign to access every expansion activity, however. Several major Okkar side quests become available partway through the main campaign as you discover areas and reach certain levels. Xbox Wire’s guide says these quests are not missable, so there is no need to restart or rush to catch them. The guide does not give one universal level threshold. The official expansion page distinguishes the post-game story from the campaign side quests.

How do you start the main expansion quest?
- Load your EVERSPACE 2 save on a platform and edition that includes Wrath of the Ancients.
- Return to Homebase.
- Start the quest “A Different Ending” to begin the main expansion storyline.
For the added side quests, keep exploring new areas and progressing your character. Lee Guille, ROCKFISH Games’ Communications & PR Director, told Xbox Wire: “New sidequests added in Wrath of the Ancients will unlock as players discover new areas and achieve certain levels.”
Which platforms can play it?
The expansion has listings for PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Nintendo availability needs a generation distinction: the original Nintendo Switch is not the version covered by the later release, while the EVERSPACE 2: Galactic Edition for Nintendo Switch 2 launched August 12, 2026. ROCKFISH Games says that bundle includes the base game, Titans, Wrath of the Ancients and the Supporter Pack, and describes its Switch 2 edition as running at 30 fps. Before buying, check the listing for your platform and edition: the Steam DLC listing explicitly requires the base game on Steam, while the Switch 2 Galactic Edition is a bundle that includes it. The Xbox and PlayStation listings also identify the expansion for their respective platforms: Xbox and PlayStation. Store availability and requirements can vary by platform and edition.

Controllers and flight peripherals
ROCKFISH Games says HOTAS and HOSAS setups are supported on PC, but it does not plan official rudder-pedal support. On consoles, the FAQ says only the respective platform controllers are supported. No specialty flight peripheral is required to access the expansion.
