Hebeth, Chapter 2 of DOOM: The Dark Ages, has three named collectibles: the Imp Stalker toy, the Hebeth Codex Entry, and the Nightmare Shredder weapon skin. This route follows chapter progression and flags the easy-to-miss turns. It covers those three collectibles—not every secret or resource pickup in the level.
Hebeth collectibles at a glance
| Order | Collectible | Where to look |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Imp Stalker toy | Early building: climb crates to a vent in the second room, then follow it. |
| 2 | Hebeth Codex Entry | Later multi-floor room: descend to the first floor and take the back hallway past crates. |
| 3 | Nightmare Shredder weapon skin | Near the end: across from the upgrade shrine, climb crates into a vent. |
The route details below are consistent with the Chapter 2 guides from GameSpot and PowerPyx. Their guides were published May 12, 2025.
1. Find the Imp Stalker toy
In the early building, reach the second room, where the objective ramp leads back outside. Before leaving, check the back wall. Use the crates there to reach the vent, drop inside, and follow the passage to the Imp Stalker toy.
The key is to look upward and behind you before taking the ramp out. The collectible is reached through the vent route, not by continuing along the obvious exit.

2. Find the Hebeth Codex Entry
Continue until you reach a room with three floors. From the second floor, descend to the first, then take the hallway at the back. Crates seem to block the way, but squeeze around them; the Codex Entry is around the corner.
This is an easy route to overlook if you treat the crates as a dead end. Check the lower floor and investigate the space beyond them rather than moving on from the room.

3. Find the Nightmare Shredder weapon skin
Near the end of the chapter, cross the point-of-no-return drop and complete the shield-jump tutorial. Before leaving the area, head toward the upgrade shrine. Across from it, climb the crates into a vent and follow the passage to the Nightmare Shredder weapon skin. PowerPyx refers to it as the Shredder – Nightmare skin.
Because this route is beyond the point of no return, collect the skin before proceeding farther. Bethesda’s exploration guidance notes that these drops prevent returning to the earlier area without restarting the level.

Three collectibles are not the whole chapter checklist
The toy, Codex Entry, and weapon skin are Hebeth’s three named collectibles. PowerPyx’s broader Chapter 2 checklist counts 13 collectible locations, 210 gold, one Demonic Essence health upgrade, nine secrets, one Codex Entry, one toy, and one skin. These figures describe that guide’s completion checklist: the nine secrets and resource pickups are additional to the three named collectibles, not extra toys or Codex Entries.
Other secret-route landmarks in that checklist include a breakable door after the first shield-thrown door, a climbable wall by the red barrier, a breakable door after stone imps break through, and a vent shortly after you obtain the Accelerator. Later, look for a valve-accessible secret around a fire-pipe area, a room that opens after a mandatory fight, and a gap near a later Sentinel Shrine. The last secret and the skin are on the late vent route described above. Use these landmarks if you want chapter completion beyond the three named items.

Use the AutoMap and recover anything you miss
Bethesda’s exploration advice, published May 16, 2025, recommends checking the AutoMap from the menu. It shows your location and objectives, along with unexplored caches and secret areas, which can help reveal an unvisited branch before you advance.
If you leave an item behind, PowerPyx says it can be collected through chapter select. The AutoMap can help you spot missed areas during a run; chapter select provides a recovery option after leaving Hebeth.
Why the collectibles are worth finding
The Imp Stalker is a toy collectible, the Codex Entry adds lore, and the Nightmare Shredder is a weapon-skin cosmetic. Bethesda’s general guidance also notes that Gold, Rubies, and Wraithstones can be spent at Sentinel Shrines to upgrade weapons, the Shield Saw, and melee attacks; those resources are separate from the three named collectibles.
