Are all eight characters playable?
No. The eight names above are the official featured-character roster, not eight battle-party recruits. PlayStation says six characters can be recruited and that three can fight at a time; Esquie and Renoir are not recruitable for battle. Esquie has an overworld-exploration role. PlayStation’s game FAQ provides those gameplay distinctions.

French voice cast
The game also has full French voice-over. PlayStation lists these French-language character pairings:
| Character | French voice actor |
|---|---|
| Gustave | Alexandre Gillet |
| Maelle | Adeline Chetail |
| Lune | Céline Melloul |
| Sciel | Sarah Cornibert |
| Renoir | Féodor Atkine |
| Verso | Slimane Yefsah |
The same FAQ also names Bruno Magne and Maxence Cazorla as additional French voices, but does not map them to particular characters there. It does not provide French character pairings for Monoco or Esquie in that list. These are voice-over credits; they should not be read as a complete performance-capture credit list.
