Oblivion Remastered’s console commands are a PC-only feature. On a keyboard, press ~ to open the console, enter a command, then press Enter. Type help to display the game’s command list. Commands can disable achievements and may cause bugs or crashes, so make a separate safe save before experimenting.

Before using console commands

  • Platform: The command console is for the PC version; it is not available on PS5 or Xbox Series, according to GamesRadar+.
  • Open it: Press ~ on a keyboard, type a command, and press Enter. Bethesda Support also recommends entering help to see the command list: How do I access the console in the game?
  • Bindings: Bethesda’s Remastered keyboard controls list defaults and caution that customized bindings may differ.
  • Protect your run: GamesRadar+ and PC Gamer warn that commands disable achievements; PC Gamer also warns of crashes or other bugs. Keep a safe save separate from the one you use for commands.
  • Compatibility: Original Oblivion commands do not all work in Remastered. The list below follows PC Gamer’s guide, last updated April 25, 2025; compatibility has not been independently verified here against a current game build. Check its command list and compatibility notes before relying on a command.

How command syntax and targeting work

Enter commands as shown, replacing bracketed placeholders with a real value and omitting the brackets. For example, in player.additem f [#], replace [#] with the quantity you want. Commands are not case-sensitive, according to GamesRadar+.

Some commands act on the player; others act on a selected target. Open the console and click an NPC or object to select it. For instance, additem affects the selected target, while player.additem gives the item to the player. If a command requires an item, quest, spell, or reference ID, use the correct ID for the thing you intend to affect.

Starter cheats

These are useful examples PC Gamer lists as working in Remastered. The guide was last updated April 25, 2025; the commands have not been independently tested for this article.

Command Effect Target or input
tgm Toggle God Mode. Enter it again to turn the effect off. Player
player.additem f [#] Add the specified quantity of gold. Replace [#] with an amount.
player.additem 0000000a [#] Add lockpicks. Replace [#] with an amount; verify item IDs before use.
player.additem 0000000b 1 Add one Skeleton Key. Player
tmm 1 Reveal map markers. Use tmm 0 to hide markers, per PC Gamer’s guide.
unlock Unlock the selected door or container. Open the console and select the object first.
player.setav [attribute] [#] Set a player attribute to a chosen value. Replace the attribute and value placeholders.
player.setgs factorstrengthencumbrancemult [#] Change the strength-based carry-weight multiplier. PC Gamer says the default is 5; changing it alters a game setting.

Remastered flight, noclip, and camera commands

For flight and noclip, PC Gamer and GamesRadar+ list Ghost to enable the behavior and Walk to disable flight and restore collision. For a free camera, use toggledebugcamera. PC Gamer identifies it as the Remastered replacement for the old free-flying camera command.

Do not assume tcl provides noclip in Remastered: PC Gamer’s compatibility notes describe Ghost and Walk as the replacement for the original-style no-target behavior. The old tfc free-camera command is likewise replaced by toggledebugcamera.

Other toggle commands

These commands are listed in Remastered command references, but compatibility varies. PC Gamer marks many original-game toggles as unsupported, so treat each as a guide-listed command rather than a guarantee for every current build.

Commands that act on a selected target

Quest inspection, recovery, and progression

If a quest appears stuck, inspect its target or stage before changing anything. The guides list these commands, but do not present stage-skipping as a guaranteed bug fix; advancing or completing a quest can alter progression.
