In the US English-language release calendar, Pokémon TCG’s major 2025 expansions ran from Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions on January 17 to Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames on November 14. The schedule included six release dates and seven named expansions, with Black Bolt and White Flare launching together.
Pokémon TCG expansion release dates in 2025
This retrospective covers major named expansions in the US English-language calendar, not every promo, reprint, collection, or retail-exclusive product. Expansion dates and the launch dates of products built around an expansion are not always the same.
| Expansion | Expansion release date | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Scarlet & Violet—Prismatic Evolutions | January 17, 2025 | A special expansion focused on Eevee and its Evolutions. Official product examples include an Elite Trainer Box with booster packs, sleeves, Energy cards, dice, and collector storage. Pokémon product details. |
| Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together | March 28, 2025 | The date is the expansion launch, not a separate date for every product. Its Booster Bundle contains six packs from the expansion. Pokémon Booster Bundle details. |
| Scarlet & Violet—Destined Rivals | May 30, 2025 | Listed on the official Pokémon press schedule. |
| Scarlet & Violet—Black Bolt and Scarlet & Violet—White Flare | July 18, 2025 | The two expansions shared a release date. Their six-pack Booster Bundles had a separate product launch date of August 22, 2025. Pokémon Booster Bundle details. |
| Mega Evolution | September 26, 2025 | The official Elite Trainer Box listing gives this launch date. The box includes nine expansion packs, promo card(s), sleeves, Energy cards, a player’s guide, dice, a coin, and collector storage. Pokémon product details. |
| Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames | November 14, 2025 | Pokémon describes the expansion as containing over 120 cards. Official release announcement. |
How to read the dates
Expansion releases versus product launches
The calendar date for an expansion does not necessarily match the release date for each product associated with it. For example, Black Bolt and White Flare were scheduled as expansions for July 18, while their six-pack Booster Bundles launched August 22. Use the expansion date to compare the main release sequence; use a product listing when you need the date for a particular box or bundle.
Geography and coverage
These dates reflect the US English-language releases supported by Pokémon’s schedule and product announcements. They should not be assumed to apply to every language or market. This list is also limited to the major named expansions established by those sources; it is not a complete inventory of every 2025 special product, promo, reprint, or retailer-exclusive item.

Choosing a set or product to collect
Start with the set’s theme or the Pokémon you most want to collect, then choose a product format that suits how you plan to open or store cards. Official examples from 2025 include Booster Bundles for Journey Together, Black Bolt, and White Flare, and Elite Trainer Boxes or collection boxes for expansions including Prismatic Evolutions and Mega Evolution. Elite Trainer Boxes can include sleeves and storage as well as packs, but contents vary by product.
These release records do not establish current stock, prices, or resale value. Check the specific product listing and retailer for present availability rather than treating an expansion’s release date as evidence that a product can still be purchased.
