Random freezes, missing sound and display glitches usually trace back to one bad driver. Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTo revive a Sim who is already a ghost, use Ambrosia, Dedeathify, a Wish for Life, or a Book of Life prepared before the Sim died. The first three can be used after death; the Book of Life requires advance preparation. Pack requirements and prerequisites differ, and EA does not establish one universally fastest method.
Methods that resurrect an established ghost
These options restore a Sim who has already become a ghost. Before using one, make sure the ghost is available to interact with: EA says ghosts can be playable household members or free-roaming, and a free-roaming ghost haunts the lot where its urn or tombstone is located. You can add that ghost to the household from the urn or tombstone.
Ambrosia
Ambrosia has the power to bring Ghost Sims back from the dead, according to EA Help. EA’s guide lists no extra pack requirement for this method. The Sim preparing it needs level 10 Cooking and level 10 Gourmet Cooking, plus an Angelfish, a Death Flower, and a Potion of Youth. With the ingredients in the Sim’s personal inventory or in a fridge, make Ambrosia and give it to the ghost Sim.
Dedeathify
This method requires the Realm of Magic Game Pack. A Spellcaster must master the Untamed School of Magic to unlock Dedeathify, then cast the spell on the ghost Sim. It is a direct option for a player who has the pack and a suitably advanced Spellcaster.

Wish for Life
This method requires the Romantic Garden Stuff Pack. Have the ghost Sim use the Wishing Well and choose the wish for life. The well may bring the Sim back, but it can also fail to grant the wish or curse the Sim. EA’s guide gives no success probability or guarantee.
Book of Life
The Book of Life works only with advance preparation. Complete the Bestselling Author Aspiration, write the book, and use Capture Epic Saga to bind it to the intended Sim while that Sim is alive. After the Sim dies, the author must summon the ghost; the ghost then reads the book to be resurrected. If the target has already died without being bound to a Book of Life, this method is not available for them.

Which resurrection method fits your situation?
The practical choice depends on the packs, skills, ingredients, and preparation you already have. EA’s guide does not compare completion times, so it does not support calling any one route universally easiest or fastest.
| Method | What you need | When it can be used |
|---|---|---|
| Ambrosia | Level 10 Cooking and Gourmet Cooking; Angelfish, Death Flower, and Potion of Youth. EA’s guide names no extra pack requirement. | After the Sim is a ghost. |
| Dedeathify | Realm of Magic Game Pack; a Spellcaster who has mastered the Untamed School of Magic. | After the Sim is a ghost. |
| Wish for Life | Romantic Garden Stuff Pack and access to the Wishing Well; the outcome is uncertain. | After the Sim is a ghost. |
| Book of Life | Complete the Bestselling Author Aspiration, write the book, and bind it to the target with Capture Epic Saga while they are alive. | Requires preparation before the target dies; the ghost must read the book afterward. |
Death-event rescues are not ghost resurrection
Some interactions can prevent a Sim’s death from completing, but they do not revive a Sim who is already a ghost. They require acting during the death event, when Grim arrives to reap the Sim.

- Save a Life: A ghost with the Helpful Ghost power can talk with Grim and use Save a Life for deaths other than old age. EA says this interaction has a 100% success rate.
Life & Death Rebirth is a separate option
Life & Death adds Rebirth when a Sim dies. EA says the option is available only to Sims who completed the Dreams Fulfilled tier in their Soul’s Journey. The guide describes Rebirth separately from restoring an established ghost with Ambrosia, Dedeathify, a wish, or a prepared Book of Life.
Do not release a ghost you want to resurrect
EA says a free-roaming ghost can be found at the lot containing its urn or tombstone, and can be added to the household from that object. Do not select Release Spirit to the Netherworld if you intend to bring the ghost back: according to EA, a released ghost cannot be brought back.
