Fisch’s Version 1.67 introduced Tidefall, an underwater cave system built around pressure, exploration, hunts, Bestiary completion, and gear progression. The launch feature list reported seven rods, three spears, four hunt encounters, ten fish mutations, and eight NPCs. This is a historical guide to the January 2026 update, not a confirmation of the game’s live state in October 2026.
When did the Tidefall update release?
The sources disagree on the date. TechWiser’s overview, published January 18, 2026, and Fisch Guide’s update history place Version 1.67’s release on January 17. The Fisch Wiki says the Tidefall location was added on January 25, 2026, with update 1.67.0. Those accounts may refer to different milestones, but the available information does not settle the discrepancy. TechWiser; Fisch Wiki; Fisch Guide.

What is Tidefall, and how does getting in work?
The Fisch Wiki describes Tidefall as a cave system beneath The Ocean. The Underwater Opening leads into the area; from the central Tidefall hub, players can explore further sub-locations and a hidden area called Thalassar’s Secret. The wiki says locations beyond the center and hidden area have their own hunt. It also describes Tidefall as a major collection destination with a large Bestiary and equipment such as rods and Crab Cages. Fisch Wiki: Tidefall.
Entry is not just a matter of swimming down. According to the community wiki, entering the water starts a Pressure Bar that fills faster at greater depth; when it fills, the player dies. The wiki calls Tidebreaker essential for reaching Tidefall before pressure becomes fatal. Abyssal Tonic slows pressure buildup, and the wiki says completing the Lost Diver quest unlocks access to buying it. It lists the tonic at 500 C$ near the merchant. These mechanics and requirements are version-sensitive community-wiki guidance, so check the in-game state if a detail differs.

How should you approach a first visit?
- Prepare for the pressure hazard. Bring Tidebreaker, which the Fisch Wiki identifies as essential for reaching Tidefall, and plan around the Pressure Bar rather than treating the descent as an ordinary swim.
- Complete the Lost Diver quest if you want the tonic. The wiki says this quest unlocks Abyssal Tonic purchases; it lists the item for 500 C$ near the merchant.
- Choose a goal before spending resources. Explore the connected areas, pursue hunts, fill out Tidefall’s Bestiary, or work toward its rods and other gear. The route and requirements differ: the wiki lists Fallen Rod after 50% Bestiary completion and Withered Spear after completing the Bestiary.
- Check prices and requirements in game. The community wiki lists central-area items in C$, including Bait Crate (120 C$), Conception Conch (444 C$), Dripstone Collapse Totem (7,500,000 C$), Fallen Rod (175,000 C$), Metal Strongbox (2,250 C$), Quality Bait Crate (525 C$), Super Flippers (30,000 C$), Tidemourner Head (750,000 C$), and Withered Spear (1,750,000 C$). Fallen Rod and Withered Spear have the Bestiary conditions noted above. These are in-game currency prices, not real-money prices, and may change by version. Fisch Wiki: Tidefall.
How does Mella’s rod-upgrade progression work?
The Sunken Reliquary community-wiki entry describes a route involving three Infusion Altars associated with Tidefall Essence, Requis Essence, and Thalass Essence. After placing the essences, summoning Mella opens rod-upgrade dialogue. Mella asks for one Exotic and one Secret fish, or a Divine Secret fish. The player chooses whether to upgrade; when an upgrade is performed, the required materials and fish are consumed. The entry’s mechanics may change with later game updates. Fisch Wiki: Sunken Reliquary.
What should you know about Tidefall hunts?
The Sunken Reliquary community reference reports that an Omnithal hunt can spawn at any time, has a maximum risk of 10,000, and lasts ten minutes or until someone catches the fish. It also says an Awakened Omnithal has a 10% chance to replace the standard Omnithal hunt when one spawns; that hunt likewise ends after ten minutes or when caught. Treat these as version-sensitive community-wiki mechanics, not guaranteed current values. Fisch Wiki: Sunken Reliquary.

Is Version 1.67 still the current Fisch update?
No: the available update history already records a later Version 1.69 Hunts and Luck overhaul dated January 31, 2026. Fisch Guide’s update-history page was last updated June 20, 2026, which establishes that Version 1.67 is historical but does not confirm the live version or every change as of October 8, 2026. For current details, check the game and official announcements. The official Fisch Discord directory listing describes the server as a place for update, event, and patch-note pings, but it is not itself a Version 1.67 changelog.
