In Evony, Desert Bandits are encounters in the Quest for Treasure event—not a standalone purchase or ordinary map target. In the event versions described by official announcements from 2023 and 2024, players used Ancient Treasure Maps to reveal treasure coordinates, sent troops to search, and could encounter a bandit carrying Treasure Clue Fragments. Collecting fragments let players compose King Solomon’s Treasure. Those announcements do not confirm the event’s availability or rules in 2026.
How Desert Bandits fit into Quest for Treasure
Evony’s September 26, 2023 announcement describes Ancient Treasure Maps as the starting point: players could obtain them from event packages or by defeating boss monsters, then use a map to reveal a treasure location. Sending troops to that location let players claim rewards; a search could also lead to a Desert Bandit carrying Treasure Clue Fragments. A June 11, 2024 Civilization Celebration announcement describes the same central loop: use a map to reveal a location, defeat Desert Bandits, and gather fragments to compose King Solomon’s Treasure. The December 26, 2023 announcement also describes the map-and-treasure flow. What happens to maps and what rewards were described?
The September 2023 and June 2024 announcements describe personal and alliance point rewards, along with ranking rewards; the 2024 notice says ranking rewards were sent by mail. Exact reward amounts and a universal event duration are not established by these announcements. The three-day duration mentioned in the September 2023 notice applies to that run only.

Map expiry is important: the Evony Team’s September 26, 2023 announcement said, “Please note, all Ancient Treasure Maps will be recalled once the event ends. Ensure they are used promptly.” The December 2023 and June 2024 notices likewise say maps disappear at the event’s end. Treat that as the terms described for those runs, and check the current in-game notice for the deadline and current rules.
Can an alliance attack or rally a Desert Bandit?
In a September 2023 reply to a player asking why an alliance could kill or rally a bandit, Top Games said, “Players need to attack Bandits by themselves.” A later support reply in the same thread described an anomaly and said it had been resolved. This is a dated answer from that event thread, not reliable confirmation of current behavior. Are Desert Bandits in Evony now?
The official event announcements available for this explanation cover September and December 2023 and June 2024. They document how those runs worked, but do not establish whether Quest for Treasure is active in 2026 or whether its current encounter mechanics, map sources, rewards, or expiry terms are unchanged. Check Evony’s in-game Event Center and current official event notice for present availability and dates.
