A November 2026 launch has been reported for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, but HAMSTER’s official games catalog did not list Exzisus on October 18, 2026. The 1987 Taito arcade game itself supports multiplayer, although available documentation does not establish whether that means simultaneous co-op or alternating turns. Until an official Exzisus product page appears, treat the release date, price, regions, languages, and player-mode details as provisional.
What is Exzisus?
Exzisus is a 1987 Taito horizontal-scrolling shooter built around a large flying robot. The original arcade game combines ground movement with aerial transformation: your machine can walk along the surface, crouch, fire guns, and launch bombs from its back. An A item changes the robot into a faster ship and adds one health point, but the ship can be damaged by brushing against the surface. Robotic animal helpers can join either form and add their firepower.

The arcade version is documented as having both single-player and multiplayer modes. That historical fact does not, by itself, answer how an Arcade Archives conversion will handle two players. A modern product page needs to specify whether players act at the same time, alternate turns, share a screen, or use another arrangement.

Multiplayer existed in the original arcade game, but simultaneous co-op is unconfirmed for Arcade Archives. The available documentation identifies multiplayer support without stating whether the second player controls a character at the same time as the first player or takes turns. It also does not establish whether the release will include local couch play, online co-op, or only an arcade-style alternating mode.

What is known
- The 1987 arcade original is documented with single-player and multiplayer modes.
- No confirmed player-count field for the Arcade Archives version is available yet.
- There is no evidence that online co-op will be included.
What to check before buying
When HAMSTER publishes the Exzisus listing, look for an explicit player-mode description rather than assuming that “multiplayer” means two ships on screen. The useful distinctions are simultaneous versus alternating play, local versus online support, and whether the mode is available on every platform. Until those fields appear, the safest answer to “Does it have co-op?” is: the original had multiplayer, but the Arcade Archives implementation has not been confirmed as simultaneous co-op.
Which platforms will receive Exzisus Arcade Archives?
A reported November 2026 release covers five platform families. These should be treated as planned or reported platforms, not a confirmed storefront lineup, because Exzisus was absent from HAMSTER’s live official catalog checked on October 18, 2026.
| Platform | Reported status | What remains unconfirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Nintendo Switch | Reported for November 2026 | Price, regional availability, language support, player mode, and final listing date |
| PlayStation 4 | Reported for November 2026 | Price, regions, languages, player mode, and storefront timing |
| Nintendo Switch 2 | Reported for November 2026 | Whether it is a native or equivalent release, plus all product details |
| PlayStation 5 | Reported for November 2026 | Whether the PS4 and PS5 versions share a purchase, and all other listing data |
| Xbox Series X/S | Reported for November 2026 | Store availability, price, regions, languages, and player-mode behavior |
The platform list does not establish that all five versions will launch on the same day. It also does not establish cross-buy, cross-save, cross-play, backward compatibility, or feature parity. Those are separate product decisions that must be confirmed in the relevant store listings.
When is Exzisus Arcade Archives coming out?
The currently reported window is November 2026. That is a reported month, not a confirmed day. On October 18, 2026, HAMSTER’s official games catalog did not include Exzisus, so there was no live official listing to verify a date, price, territory, languages, or platform-specific features.

How to interpret the November window
- It is not a dated launch announcement: no specific day is established.
- It is not a confirmed storefront release: the title was not present in the checked catalog.
- It may not apply identically to every platform: separate platform listings can appear at different times.
A reliable confirmation will need to come from an official Exzisus product page or an equivalent platform-store listing that names the release date. Until then, avoid treating retailer placeholders or unsourced date claims as final.
What gameplay features does the original Exzisus have?
The arcade design is more distinctive than a standard horizontal shooter because the player changes between a surface-running robot and a faster airborne ship. The following mechanics are documented for the original game; they are not a guarantee that every behavior will be exposed identically in the conversion.
Robot movement and weapons
The player controls a giant flying robot that can walk along the surface and crouch. Its weapon arrangement is unusual: it fires bombs from its back and guns simultaneously. The combination lets the player attack in more than one direction while navigating terrain and enemy patterns.
A-item transformation
Collecting an A item transforms the robot into a faster ship and adds one health point. The trade-off is collision vulnerability: the ship can be harmed by brushing the surface. The transformation therefore changes both speed and risk, rather than functioning as a simple upgrade with no downside.

- Flawless 4K@60Hz Video with HDMI: Delivers exceptional clarity and smoothness with its 4K@60Hz HDMI port, making it ideal for high-definition presentations and entertainment. (Note: Only the HDMI port supports video projection; the USB-C port is for data transfer only.)
- Double Up on Efficiency: The two USB-A 3.0 ports and a USB-C port support a fast 5Gbps data rate, significantly boosting your transfer speeds and improving productivity.
- Fast and Reliable 85W Charging: Offers high-capacity, speedy charging for laptops up to 85W, so you spend less time tethered to an outlet and more time being productive.
- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (7-in-1), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
Robotic animal helpers
Robotic animal helpers can combine their firepower with the robot or the ship. Their role is to increase offensive capability while the player manages movement, transformation, and collision hazards.
Level structure and progression
- Checkpoints: stages include points where progress can be resumed after a mistake.
- Progress map: an on-screen map shows advancement through a level.
- Obstacle sections: not every challenge is a straightforward enemy wave; some sections emphasize navigation.
- Boss encounters: bosses have a visible health meter, making damage progress readable during the fight.
- Score-based extra lives: the game awards an extra life for every 100,000 points.
These systems explain why player-mode details matter. A simultaneous second player could affect screen spacing, checkpoint behavior, helper use, scoring, and how the robot-to-ship transformation is managed. None of those conversion-specific rules has been published yet.
What does the Arcade Archives version normally include?
HAMSTER describes the Arcade Archives series as faithfully reproducing classic arcade games while staying true to the original. Its official series description says players can adjust settings such as difficulty, sometimes recreate a CRT television presentation, and compete for high scores with players worldwide through online rankings.

What is still unknown about the release?
Because the title was not listed in HAMSTER’s catalog on October 18, 2026, several practical buying questions remain open:
- The exact release day in November 2026.
- Digital price and currency by region.
- Which countries or storefront regions will receive each version.
- Supported interface, subtitle, or menu languages.
- Whether multiplayer is simultaneous, alternating, local, or online.
- Whether Switch and Switch 2 versions are separate products or share an entitlement.
- Whether PS4 and PS5 versions share a purchase or have separate listings.
- Whether Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S have identical feature sets.
- Any cross-buy, cross-save, cross-play, achievement, trophy, or ranking details.
None of these gaps should be filled by assumptions based on other classic-game re-releases. Similar series branding does not make platform policies or player modes interchangeable.

- Confirm the product identity: make sure the listing is the Exzisus release, not another Taito or Arcade Archives title.
- Check the player field: distinguish simultaneous co-op from alternating multiplayer and note whether play is local or online.
- Compare platform generation: check whether Switch and Switch 2, or PS4 and PS5, are separate products and whether either version has a stated upgrade path.
- Review display and control options: verify difficulty choices, CRT-style presentation, button configuration, and any screen-orientation settings actually listed.
- Inspect ranking support: determine whether online leaderboards are enabled, and whether they are global, regional, or divided by settings.
- Verify price and region: use the store for your country because currency, tax, availability, and language support can differ.
This checklist avoids treating an unconfirmed feature as a reason to choose one console over another.
What should arcade-shooter players expect from the design?
Exzisus rewards players who read the relationship between movement form and terrain. The robot offers surface access, crouching, and simultaneous bomb-and-gun fire. The ship offers greater speed but introduces the danger of touching the surface. Helpers add firepower, while checkpoints and the progress map provide structure through each stage. Boss health meters make encounters easier to read, and the 100,000-point extra-life rule gives score-focused players a concrete target.
That description is useful for understanding the original even if the Arcade Archives listing is delayed. It does not, however, predict how the emulator will handle continues, controller assignments, ranking eligibility, or multiplayer scoring. Those details belong to the conversion announcement.
Bottom line on Exzisus Arcade Archives
Exzisus is a 1987 Taito horizontal shooter with a robot-to-ship transformation, helper units, checkpoints, boss meters, and score-based extra lives. Its arcade version supports multiplayer, but there is no confirmed evidence that the Arcade Archives edition will provide simultaneous two-player co-op, local co-op, or online co-op. A November 2026 release is reported for Switch, PS4, Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, yet HAMSTER’s catalog did not list the game on October 18, 2026. Wait for the official Exzisus listing before relying on a date, price, region, language, or player-mode claim.
