Facebook Instant Games were casual games launched from Facebook or Messenger, where friends could share scores, issue challenges, or—in some titles—take turns. But the available sources do not verify a definitive list of 26 games from 2022, and they do not establish which titles still work in Facebook in 2026. Treat the names below as historical examples and a starting point for checking your own account, not a guaranteed live catalog.
What “Facebook Instant Games” meant
At launch, Meta described Instant Games as games people could open within Facebook surfaces such as News Feed or a Messenger conversation. A player could finish a round, share a score, and challenge friends. The feature was built around casual play without leaving those Facebook experiences, rather than a single multiplayer format. Meta’s November 2016 launch announcement explains the original experience.
Playing with friends could mean competing asynchronously for a higher score, taking turns, joining a leaderboard or tournament, or using a game bot. Meta described those different features as the service expanded in 2017; it did not say every game supported all of them. Meta’s May 2017 announcement also noted that availability varied by device and location.
Historical Instant Games to look for
Meta’s launch materials name these examples from the original Instant Games era. They establish that the titles were associated with the launch, not that they remain playable now or that each offered direct multiplayer.
#1 Best Overall
- Your goal: try to collect as few points as possible over several rounds of play as quickly as possible by skilfully uncovering, exchanging and collecting playing cards, as few points as possible. But this can only be done as long as a player has not revealed all their cards, otherwise the round of game ends. So be careful, keep an eye on the game and the players
- Great fun for your friends and family. Skyjo is a fun card game that is great fun for children and even large game friends (adults). The card game is very suitable for short games in between and is also an enrichment for a sociable and beautiful game evening.
- Learn playful: calculate - learn to add up to 100 two-digit numbers. Estimate - Get a sense of probability. Concentration - Track game sequences and watch players and their actions.
- Fast game start. Simple, easy-to-understand game principle. Short game instructions with pictures. Ideal for a short game in between as well as as as a base game for fun and exciting game evenings. The game is round-based and can be played flexibly in time.

- Arcade and score-chasing: PAC-MAN, Galaga, SPACE INVADERS, TRACK & FIELD 100M, EverWing, and Endless Lake.
- Puzzles and quick rounds: ARKANOID, Brick Pop, Hex, Puzzle Bobble, Templar 2048, 2020 Connect, and The Tribez: Puzzle Rush.

These examples come from Meta’s English-language launch post and its Japanese launch announcement, which listed 17 initial titles. They are historical selections, not a verified 2022 top 26.
More titles in a 2023 roundup
A third-party roundup updated September 4, 2023 selected the following games and described their broad play styles. It is an editorial list, not an official or current availability record, and its descriptions should not be read as hands-on testing.

Why there is no confirmed “best 26” for 2022
The title’s exact 26-game list could not be verified. A search result for GeekerMag’s “The Best Facebook Games 2022” has 41 entries and places Words With Friends at number 26, but that is a broader Facebook-games roundup—not proof of a 26-title Instant Games list. The two lists should not be conflated.

Meta’s July 2021 description separates HTML5 games from cloud-streamed games played through Facebook Gaming. It reported more than 25 cloud-streamed titles and over 1.5 million people playing them each month at that time. Those figures apply to the cloud-streaming service in 2021, not to the Instant Games catalog.

Meta’s cloud-game examples then included Assassin’s Creed Rebellion, Hungry Shark Evolution, Hungry Dragon, Roller Coaster Tycoon Touch, Lego Legacy Heroes Unboxed, Dragon Mania Legends, and State of Survival. Their appearance in that announcement does not make them Instant Games. Read Meta’s July 2021 explanation of cloud gaming for the distinction.
How to check whether a title is playable now
Availability and Facebook navigation change over time. A 2023 third-party guide describes access through the Facebook app, but it does not verify the 2026 catalog or guarantee that the same menus appear in every account. Use the current app experience as the deciding check:
Recommended Free Tools
- Open Facebook or Messenger and search for the exact game title.
- Open the result and check whether it launches within Facebook or Messenger, rather than assuming a similarly named app or cloud-streamed title is the same service.
- Before inviting friends, inspect the game’s own play screen for a direct match, turn-based option, score challenge, leaderboard, or invitation control. These features differ by title.
- If the title does not appear or launch in your account, treat it as unavailable to you; an older roundup is not evidence that it remains accessible.
Choosing a game for a group
Start with the kind of interaction your friends want, then confirm the title supports it in the version you can access. A quick arcade score challenge suits a different group than a turn-based word or board game. For a live head-to-head session, do not infer that feature from a game’s inclusion in a friend-play list—look for an explicit match or invite option.
For a historical shortlist, Meta’s original launch examples include PAC-MAN, EverWing, and Words with Friends: Frenzy, while the 2023 third-party roundup includes Ludo Club, UNO, Word Blitz, and 8 Ball Pool. Both are useful as names to search, but neither source establishes that these games are available in every region, device, or account today.
