Jetragon is the fastest flying mount in the cited Palworld 1.0 data, with a ride sprint speed of 3,300. Hartalis and Necromus tie for the fastest ground ride at 1,900. Neptilius leads the swimming tables, although two sources report conflicting water-speed figures. Gliding is different: you need an equipped glider, while Glider Pals provide a passive effect rather than serving as the glider themselves.
Fastest Palworld mounts by movement type
| Movement type | Fastest mount | Reported speed | How to read the figure |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flying | Jetragon | 3,300 ride sprint | Listed as normalized ride sprint speed in PalMods’ Palworld 1.0 dataset; another current 1.0 ranking agrees on the leader and figure. PalMods and Palworld Database. |
| Ground | Hartalis and Necromus (tie) | 1,900 ride sprint each | PalMods’ versioned dataset lists both at 1,900. Their stamina and run-speed fields differ; peak sprint alone does not tell the whole story. PalMods. |
| Swimming | Neptilius | 1,120 in PalMods; 2,000 in Palworld Database | Both sources rank Neptilius first, but report different values. The figures should not be treated as a single confirmed measurement. PalMods and Palworld Database. |
| Gliding | Equipped glider; Glider Pal can add a passive effect | No comparable mount-speed figure established | Gliding is not a fourth rideable-Pal speed category. Pocketpair says a glider must be equipped to glide. Pocketpair’s v0.5.5 notice. |
What the speed rankings measure
PalMods describes its 115-Pal table as a comparison of normalized rideSprintSpeed game-data values, not a timed test over a fixed route. Its August 13, 2026 extract covers 29 flying, 77 ground, and 9 swimming rideable Pals. Terrain, acceleration, animation, collision, Partner Skills, passive skills, world settings, saddle access, and route shape can all affect practical travel. See the PalMods speed table.
Peak sprint is only one part of a useful comparison. The Palworld Database notes that a mount can sprint only while it has stamina; after that, it returns to its normal pace until stamina refills. Its table lists Jetragon at 110 stamina and Neptilius at 410. Those values help explain why a fast mount with less endurance may not be the best choice for every long trip, but they do not establish a universal route-time winner. See the Palworld Database ranking.
Which fast mount should you choose?
For the fastest listed flight: Jetragon
Jetragon leads the cited flight tables at 3,300 ride sprint. That is a raw data ranking, not a guarantee that it will save the most time on every journey: detours, obstacles, stamina, and when you can obtain its riding gear all matter.

For ground travel: choose between Hartalis and Necromus
Both are listed at 1,900 ride sprint in the PalMods dataset, but their other listed movement stats differ. Hartalis has 400 stamina and a 900 run speed; Necromus has 350 stamina and a 1,300 run speed. If you expect to sprint in bursts, stamina may matter; if you spend more time at normal pace, the run-speed distinction may matter. These are dataset fields, not a measured head-to-head travel test. PalMods’ mount-speed data.
For swimming: Neptilius leads, with a data discrepancy
Neptilius is ranked first for swimming by both referenced tables, but PalMods lists 1,120 while Palworld Database lists 2,000. Because the sources disagree, neither number should be presented as an uncontested in-game value. Consider the ranking an indication of the sources’ shared leader, and check the live game after updates if the exact stat matters.

For gliding: equip a glider, then consider the Pal’s passive
Pocketpair’s May 7, 2025 v0.5.5 notice says players can glide only by using an equipped glider. It also says Glider Pals provide a new passive Partner Skill effect while gliding; the Pal itself does not replace the equipped glider. Read Pocketpair’s v0.5.5 update notice.
Progression: fastest does not always mean available first
Jetragon is an endgame headline pick, but Pocketpair’s August 11, 2026 v1.0.3 patch notice says the unlock level for some Jetragon-related technologies was changed from 79 to 70 and the materials required for the Pal Gear used to ride Jetragon were reduced. That is official patch context; it does not mean the mount is an early-game option. Pocketpair’s v1.0.3 notice.

For earlier flight progression, a current PalMods guide identifies Nitewing as the earliest wild flyer, available from level 12, and Shaolong as the fastest current wild-catch route at 2,800. These are guide-reported access details, rather than claims from Pocketpair’s patch notice. See the PalMods flying guide.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. How to compare mounts for your route
- Match the movement category: compare flying with flying, ground with ground, and swimming with swimming rather than treating the listed values as interchangeable.
- Check sprint and stamina together: top speed applies while sprinting; stamina affects how long you can sustain that pace.
- Factor in unlocks and riding gear: a theoretical leader is less useful if you cannot yet obtain or ride it.
- Think about route utility: a guide describes Eidrolon’s hovering and airborne weapon use as practical traits, but those are utility distinctions rather than an independently measured speed advantage. PalMods’ flying guide.
- Do not read raw values as travel-time promises: terrain, obstacles, route geometry, game settings, and other movement effects can change the outcome.
The figures and progression notes here come from Palworld 1.0 data tables, guides, and Pocketpair patch notices available as of October 4, 2026. Future game updates may change stats, unlocks, or mechanics.
