Fate/EXTRA Record is scheduled to launch on January 28, 2027, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Steam. The right edition depends on whether you want physical collectibles, downloadable extras, or a standard copy. The announced prices below are US prices from the Americas publisher, not guarantees of current retailer offers or prices in other regions.
Which platforms and editions are announced?
The official game site lists PS5, PS4, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and Steam, with a January 28, 2027 release date. Steam also lists January 28, 2027 as the planned release date and currently marks the game as not yet available; that date is a schedule, not confirmation that the game has launched.
For the Americas, XSEED Games announced physical editions for Switch, Switch 2, and PS5, and digital Standard and Digital Deluxe editions for Switch, Switch 2, PS5, and PS4. The publisher describes the Switch 2 physical version as fully on cartridge. Check the exact regional package and retailer listing before relying on that format detail elsewhere. The announcement does not establish that physical copies will be available for every listed platform or in every market.
Publisher names vary by region and storefront. The official site names XSEED Games and Marvelous Europe Limited; the Americas announcement identifies XSEED Games for the Americas and Marvelous Europe for Europe. Aniplex is named as publisher on Steam, and TYPE-MOON announced on August 31, 2026 that Aniplex had been selected as publisher after a change in the development structure. Use the publisher and store listing relevant to your region rather than assuming editions and offers are identical worldwide.

Which edition makes sense for you?
Choose Standard if you want the game without bonus bundles
Standard is the straightforward option if you do not want the additional music, outfits, digital book, or physical collectibles. Choose format based on your platform and preference for a physical copy; the announced Americas physical Standard options do not include PS4.
Choose Digital Deluxe for downloadable extras
The Digital Deluxe bundle is for players who want the three cosmetic outfit packs, arranged in-game music, and digital art book and soundtrack. Steam notes that some included content may also be sold separately, and that its digital art book and soundtrack are delivered through a separate application. Compare any separately offered add-ons with the bundle before checkout to avoid buying the same content twice. Steam also cautions that product contents and specifications may change.

- Veiled fate board game
Choose the Limited Edition for physical collectibles
The Limited Edition’s main distinction is its physical art book and three-disc soundtrack, including the original game’s soundtrack as well as the new score. It is not the same bundle as Digital Deluxe: the publisher’s announced physical contents do not list the three outfit packs or digital book and soundtrack.
What should you verify before checkout?
- Match the platform and region. Confirm the listing is for your console or Steam and your country; do not transfer US prices or physical-edition availability to another market.
- Check format and exact SKU. If buying Switch 2 physical, make sure the listing identifies the Switch 2 version and says it is fully on cartridge. Do not infer this from a listing for another platform.
- Compare included content. Check whether a Deluxe bundle or separate DLC includes items you already own or plan to buy. For the Limited Edition, verify that the listing matches the announced physical contents.
- Confirm the live offer. Availability, retailer price, shipping, taxes, preorder bonuses, and order status are not established by the publisher’s announcement. Check the retailer’s current product page and terms; the announcement that physical preorders would be available soon is not proof that a particular shop has open orders or stock.
- Review regional store details. Check local language, currency, compatibility, and store terms on the exact product page. The announced platform list alone does not settle every regional listing detail.
What kind of game is Fate/EXTRA Record?
Fate/EXTRA Record is a remake and reworking of the 2010 PSP RPG Fate/EXTRA, not a promise that the original’s combat or content is unchanged. It is a dungeon-exploration RPG set in the Moon Holy Grail War, where Masters and Servants fight in a digital world tied to the Moon Cell. Players can choose Saber, Archer, or Caster.
Rank #4
- Maria has gathered enough strength to confront Leopold, but first, she must tack him down…
- This is the third episode of the murderous trilogy about Maria.
- 50 Clues is an immersive puzzle game that offers the experience of an escape room, but in a format that can played at home. Combine objects, solve puzzles, and decipher codes to complete the story.
- A smartphone or tablet keeps track of the solutions and provides multistep hints if the need arises.
- The story only makes sense to be played once, but the serial number can be activated up to 30 times.
Official descriptions say Record revises and expands the original narrative, updates its presentation, and rebuilds combat around turn-based encounters and deck-building. The PlayStation Blog describes customizable Command Card battles and gathering information about rival Servants. Those changes make the edition choice a question of format and extras; the announced editions do not represent different story or combat versions.
