What changed with Festival of the Lost weapons?
The 2025 event added Gunburn, a Kinetic Lightweight Frame submachine gun, and Hushed Whisper, a Strand Precision Frame bow, and brought back Arcane Embrace, according to Bungie’s October 16, 2025 preview. That announcement also confirmed Kinetic Tremors on Gunburn. These are dated event details, not a promise that the 2025 activity or its original reward route remains available.

In June 2026, Bungie said it was retiring Festival of the Lost and other seasonal events as part of a change to its live-service plans. Bungie’s June 4, 2026 update lists tiered Festival weapons among endlessly purchasable engrams. It does not specify every weapon’s current purchase route or conditions, so the live in-game inventory is the practical check.

Gunburn god roll for PvE
For PvE, a 2025 community guide recommends Bewildering Burst in the third perk column with Kinetic Tremors and/or Ancillary Ordnance in the fourth. Treat this as that guide’s recommendation, not an official Bungie ranking or a claim that every roll is equally suitable for every build. Kinetic Tremors is the perk Bungie specifically confirmed for Gunburn; consult the current weapon details in game to verify the rest of the available pool.

Gunburn’s Kinetic Lightweight Frame SMG identity is confirmed in the 2025 Bungie preview. The available evidence does not establish a universal best PvP roll, so choose a candidate based on the stats and perks shown in game for your copy rather than assuming the PvE recommendation is ideal in Crucible.
Hushed Whisper god roll for PvE
For a Strand-oriented PvE setup, a 2025 community guide highlights Slice and Hatchling as options. That is a short list of noteworthy perks, not a complete, verified current perk pool or an authoritative best-in-slot combination. Compare the roll you have against your build’s needs and the in-game perk columns.

Bungie identifies Hushed Whisper as a Strand Precision Frame bow. It also reported that a bug causing the bow to deal less damage than intended was fixed in Update 9.1.5.4; see the update notes. The cited material does not establish a current PvP recommendation.

Bungie’s 2024 event preview named the following example combinations. They are useful dated reference points, not guarantees about the weapons’ perk pools in later years or their current engram versions.

The original 2025 event announcement said weapons could drop from event activities, could be purchased with candy or earned through event rewards, and that other Portal activities could award up to two Eerie Engrams daily. Those were instructions for that event year, not current access directions.

After the 2026 retirement, Bungie listed tiered Festival weapons among endlessly purchasable engrams, but did not publish a weapon-by-weapon list of current Monument purchase routes or conditions. In game, inspect the Monument of Guardian Tenets and its available engrams; confirm the displayed contents and requirements before using currency. Availability can depend on the current inventory and your account, so do not assume that a past event’s candy or activity route still applies.
How to choose between candidate rolls
- Start with the activity: evaluate PvE perk synergy separately from Crucible handling, range, or consistency. A PvE recommendation is not automatically a PvP recommendation.
- Check the actual columns: compare the perks on your weapon with the current in-game details; older event examples may not describe the current version.
- Fit the build: consider whether you want damage, add-clear, or an ability interaction, and whether the combination supports how you play.
- Use “god roll” as shorthand: it is a community judgment, not an official designation, and the best choice can vary with the activity and sandbox.
